(Salisbury, MD) Before you gear up for your big Thanksgiving feast, come join us at Pemberton Historical Park for the Second Annual Turkey Trek 5K. The 5K will take place on Thursday, November 25 (Thanksgiving Day) with registration beginning at 7:30am. The race will begin at 9:00am and runners can enjoy winding through Pemberton’s beautiful forests, meadows and wetlands.
Participants can relax afterwards with healthy refreshments as well as pie and ice cream. Gift certificates and awards will be given out in several age categories. As a new element this year, the person dressed up in the best Thanksgiving costume will also receive a prize.
Early registration is open for $20 per runner. Those registering the day of can do so for $25. Proceeds will go directly towards Pemberton’s Environmental Education Programs. Online registration is being accepted via Active.com at http://www.wicomicorecandparks.org/. Runners can also register at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center Box Office, which is open Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
