MDGOP Statement On The Harris Win

Maryland Republican Party Chairman Audrey Scott released the following statement on Dr. Andy Harris’ victory:

“I want to congratulate Andy Harris for running a successful campaign to return the First Congressional District back to the GOP. First District residents spoke loud and clear, rejecting the tax-and-spend policies of Congressional Democrats by electing Andy Harris as their next congressman.

“I’m thrilled the Maryland Republican Party could do our part to ensure Republicans would take back the United States House of Representatives. Our unprecedented get-out-the-vote effort in the district combined with Andy Harris’ strong leadership and commonsense solutions bucked the Maryland Democrat Machine to send another Maryland Republican to Washington. On this historic Election Day for Republicans nationwide, I’m proud that Maryland Republicans could do our part to return checks and balances to Capitol Hill by electing Andy Harris and reelecting Roscoe Bartlett.
