Medical Marijuana Talks Re-Emerge In Maryland

Maryland could soon be considering some joint relief.

Republican state Sen. David Brinkley wants to renew an effort to legalize medical marijuana in Maryland.

Brinkley said, if re-elected, he plans to reintroduce a bill that would also address the issues of providing a reliable source for marijuana rather than putting it on the black market.

A similar bill passed the state Senate during last session. A version of the bill failed in the House of Delegates.
Under current Maryland law, defendants charged with use or possession of marijuana can argue a medical need as a mitigating factor at their sentencing. But even if a medical necessity is proven, a judge can still fine a patient up to $100.

If that happens give me my Permit to Carry a Concealed Weapon. Md is crime rapid now. Crime is not always reported to the Public now. Watch it jump if this happens. I will need to protect myself and family even more then.

Take the money out of the hands of criminals and put it into our ailing school systems. Alcohol is more dangerous to the human body than Marijuana. You've been listening to the government propaganda for a lifetime! Get educated and get real.

Yeah, I can see a bunch of pot smokers running around roobing and plundering. LOL...the only thing. they may plunder is the cookie aisle at Wal-Mart. Maryland has already given pot smokers an "out" from prosecution. I have not seen a "spike" in crimes because of that. Quit playing that old, worn out, decades old scare crap. Thats why so many states and legislators are coming to understand the FACT that smoking pot should NOT be a criminal offense. The scare tactics (the last resort of the imbecilic) aren't working anymore. Even THE POLICE don't want to enforce those laws...
