I wouldn't take my kid trick-or-treating on a Sunday. Thats just my opinion. There are plenty of other organizations doing trick or treat events that I will be going to.
Hey Jim, I'll take my kids trick or treating when I want to. And there isn't anything you can do about it. Here is something else I can do. I can vote you out of a job. Se ya in the unemployment line. Toodles...
2:22 how do you know 12:55 has a kid ....mabye he just does not want to bothered by kids pounding on his door while he is trying to watch football..... just a thought
well 2:22 i wont be watching football or drinking beer but i am very disappointed that trick or treat would be on a sunday. it should have been on saturday.
Please, someone tell the gubmint to stay outta my trick-or-treating bidness. I'll take my kids out for candy whenever I feel like it. Does Liarton want to tell me it's okay to open presents on Christmas, too?
4:33-My thoughts exactly! What's the big deal?! If it falls on Wednesday, we don't say Saturday is better. Don't come to my house on Saturday--Halloween is on Sunday.
Why is everyone so mad? It's not his fault Halloween falls on a Sunday! Since when does everyone expect a holiday to be changed to another day. Better be careful someone might decide to make all holidays on weekends so we can't get off of work.
Only real dopes would try to time shift Halloween. Apparently the Eastern Shore is still as backward as they come. It's no wonder we have the lowest SAT's in Maryland with silly parents wanting to move Halloween.
It's no wonder the Western Shore thinks we have bones in our noses.
This announcement is just to get everyone on the same page. He's not trying to tell you when and where to celebrate a holiday or anything crazy like that. Its better for the community (people at home giving out candy and parents taking kids out) to know when the trick or treating will be going on. This kind of announcement is just for people like 2:24 who get all offended and mad about nothing and will probably walk their kids around on Saturday and wonder why no one answers their door bells with candy.
Hey, guess what? Football is on Saturday AND Sunday. Got Tivo? Well, you can always get your drink on and your football on, and answer the door as needed. As for Sunday, I think the only people who would be offended are the bible thumpers who don't want their kids dancing with the devil on the Lord's day! Everyone just chill and go with the flow. Let the kids have fun. For the guy who wanted to vote Ireton out of a job, well, he still has a better paying one. Just food for thought. Now let's all exhale and reach for a piece of candy that we're not supposed to eat, that's meant for the trick or treaters! LOL
Thanks for the info 9:43 - I live in Chapel Branch, and I am looking forward to seeing the local children having fun that night. I am very happy to live in Hebron, and Chapel Branch specifically, but am concerned about how many children are quite litterally trucked in to celebrate this holiday. I hope our housing board will have a few volunteers on hand to turn away people doing just this like last year. I am not opposed to having kids come to the door to have their fun, but in years past, my wife and I could not count the number of ungrateful kids from other areas showing up and DEMANDING candy! In fact, last year, we turned away several very large groups of kids who were clearly not from here who arrived in 3 very large vehicles. These kids, and their parents were positively obnoxious as they trashed our yard along with the neighbor's in full veiw of us as their parents laughed (and in two cases were openly drinking beer) - and the language from the kids was unreal! Swearing at each other, and in once case swearing at an elderly neighbor of ours who was apparently passing out FREE candy that they didn't like. To those parents thinking about trucking in their children to do something like this - go elsewhere! If your neighborhood is not safe for your children (which is not our fault)to go trick or treating, host a party at your home to ensure their saftey, but don't think that those of us in Hebron are duty bound to give you and your rude children candy we purchased! Be safe everyone, and remember to check your kids candy before they enjoy any of it. Happy Halloween!
I wish the whole thing would stop. I don't want anyone tresspassing and bothering me begging for candy. I want to relax when I get home. I turn the lights off, put up a no tresspassing sign and they still bang on my door. I have a right to privacy in my home but on this night rude people invade my property and it needs to stop. Terrible tradition!!!!

Sounds like 12:55 needs to spend more time worrying about their kid and less time about drinking and watching pigskin.

Isn't Halloween always on October 31st? Halloween occurred on this day ever since I was born.
