ANNAPOLIS—Bob Ehrlich today accepted the endorsement of the Prince George’s County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association (PGCVFRA) for Governor of Maryland. The PGCVFRA represents 38 volunteer fire and rescue operations county-wide.
“It is a tremendous honor to receive this endorsement,” said Ehrlich. “Throughout my entire career, I have been deeply committed to supporting those brave Marylanders who volunteer to put their lives on the line everyday in the interest of saving the lives of others. Their selfless actions show us time and time again the profound difference volunteers of this magnitude can make. As governor, I will continue to fight for Maryland’s volunteer and career fire and rescue personnel. I will fight everyday for policies that support, instead of minimize, the tremendous role these men and women play in our state.”
“Governor Bob Ehrlich has demonstrated a commitment to and understanding of the value and importance of maintaining a society and environment that promotes a combination fire department including volunteer firefighters and emergency medical personnel,” said the Chief Pete Mellits. “Governor Ehrlich was endorsed because of his steadfast support over his many years in public service to the fire service. He has always been a strong advocate for public safety and the emergency services in Maryland.”
