There is one great and as of yet unmentioned plus to building the Mosque. It will be as close as Al-Quida can get to an embassy in America. And like any embassy, it will be bugged by the CIA, and be planted with undercover agents. What better way to know what they are up to. Could be why the US government is saying go for it.
let them build a victory flag so we can bug it...great idea. we could make them build it elsewhere.
