Resume:
Bear - Delaware State Police are investigating a crash involving a state trooper who was attempting to give aid to a motorist.
The crash occurred on SR 1 just south of Rt 273 when a trooper was enroute to a crash near Christiana. He was advised that he was no longer needed. At that time the trooper was passing Burns who was stopped on the shoulder in heavy rain. The trooper still had the vehicle's emergency equipment activated when he pulled onto the shoulder. The trooper began to back up and parked in front of the Buick. As the trooper was about to exit his cruiser, the Honda Accord traveled off onto the shoulder and struck the rear of the Buick and pushed it into the back of the trooper’s car.
The trooper and Burns were taken to Christiana Hospital where they were treated from minor injures. Fahey who was the driver of the Honda refused treatment.
All the operators were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash including the trooper who just about to step out of the car.
The investigation is on going and no charges have been filed at this time.

Somebody's gonna be in some real trouble from this.
Delaware passed a law that you MUST move over when there is an emergency vehicle on the shoulder of the road. Apparently this driver did not do so. Oops!!
