Thieves Steal from Area Churches

Delaware State Police are currently investigating a series of thefts from Kent County area churches. The recent string of thefts has occurred in the west Dover and Hartly area.

Delaware State Police have learned the thieves are targeting the Church’s air conditioner units. A total of 8 air conditioner units have been stolen from these churches along with copper tubing. The approximate cost to the churches has reached $10,800. The thefts are believed to have occurred during the nighttime hours. The thieves are cutting the tubing and removing the copper wiring along with the entire AC unit.

State Police is asking the publics assistance in nabbing these thieves. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be forwarded to law enforcement through tip lines maintained by Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-333 3 or on line at www.tipsubmit.com.
