Disadvantage Of Delaware Casinos
Here’s something your readers might find interesting and save some frustration… I have a Macy’s Visa card, tried to use it at an ATM this morning in Delmar, DE and it was declined. I had just checked the balance and had $2000 available for cash withdrawal. I knew my pin# was correct. So I call them, and she’s like yes, you have $2000 available, with an $850 daily limit. I tell her it didn’t work and she looks up the ATM transaction, and says ahh, you tried to use the card in a restricted zip code 19940. Huh?!? Yes sir, that zip code is within 50 miles of a casino and therefore it cannot be used in ATMs.

I didn't know they could do that. What if you had needed cash for an emergency? It's your choice how you want to use the cash.
really???? I have used my ATM card in Las Vegas INSIDE the Casino about 1000 times. This is a bit hard to believe. Must be one of your Chritian Right Wind buddies
Never heard such a thing. In addition never had a card where you can withdraw $850.00 a day.
It's a credit card, not a debit card. There are different restrictions on using those in ATMs obviously.
Yes, I was flabbergasted, what if I needed the card for emergency car repairs or something. Note, I assume this is just a policy of the Macy's Visa, not necessarily all cards.
But, I just wanted to warn everyone, you may want to try your card before it's an emergency.
I've used card before for cash withdrawls, so it appears to have just taken effect when Delaware started table games. So your card may have worked before, but may not now.
Maybe they did you a favor.
Even my debit card withdrawing my own money has a daily limit and its not $850.00.
Wow. I didn't know a rule like that existed.
marlarky!
A blessing in disguise. If you don't have the cash, don't gamble.
Soooooo, did they tell you why? Feel like part of the story is missing.
It sounds like it only applies to cash advances on CREDIT cards, not simple ATM card withdrawals.Probably a good idea, wondering if it is to prevent credit card fraud.
BS
You have to go to the casino to get a cash advance from your credit card. Same process in A/C casinos ... the casino charges you and your credit card company charges you a convenience/cash advance fee. Call the casino or Clark Griswold for verification.

Please tell me what is a "Chritian Right Wind buddies"?
It must be a new law because I have personally seen a man's credit card statement-I won't name him-which read:
Cash adv.-Harrington slots
Cash adv.-Harrington slots
Cash adv.-Harrington slots
Cash adv.-Harrington slots
They may have called it by a more perfected name but I knew it was Harrington slots as soon as I saw the statement. This man had an obvious problem and was charging his gambling addiction. Delaware wasn't the only place either. He also gambled in the Bahamas and in New Jersey. These were also reflected on the statement. So anyway, if it is a law, it must be new.
