GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY TO MAKE MAJOR TRANSIT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCEMENT TODAY

Governor to announce the move of a State agency to Prince George’s County, stimulating development and job creation

Governor will designate 14 transit stations for priority development focus throughout Maryland

ANNAPOLIS, MD
— Governor Martin O’Malley, joined by Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, state and local officials and community leaders, will officially launch the process to move a State agency into Prince George’s County. Governor O’Malley will seek a new, transit-oriented location for a State agency to be announced tomorrow. This announcement can serve as a milestone in fulfilling a transit-oriented development vision for state agencies the Governor has championed for four years. Ultimately, such a move could serve as a model for other employers and developers considering transit-oriented development locations in the county.

In addition, to this announcement, Governor Martin O’Malley will also designate the first round of specific transit stations in the Baltimore and Washington regions for priority transit-oriented development. Governor O’Malley will outline the importance of the transit-oriented designation and that these stations will be priorities for state development assistance.

Take note of the counties where Owe Malley is bring his version of job creation. Not one job on this side of the bay, not one.
