EHRLICH RECEIVES UNANIMOUS SUPPORT FROM GOP STATE LAWMAKERS

Annapolis-- Bob Ehrlich has received the unanimous support of Republican members of the Legislature in his campaign to be elected Governor of Maryland.

Every Republican in the House of Delegates and the State Senate signed letters endorsing Ehrlich as the Republican candidate for Governor. All 14 Republican members of the Senate, and all 37 Republicans in the House, voiced support for a new Ehrlich Administration.

“Republican members of the Maryland House of Delegates are ready for you to return fiscal responsibility to the State of Maryland and help create jobs for hard-working Marylanders,” the House members wrote.

“You put Maryland’s fiscal house in order and turned a $4 billion deficit into a $1 billion surplus…The current administration pushed through the largest tax increase in Maryland’s history, including a 20% increase in the sales tax. These tax increases have moved Maryland in the wrong direction,” the Senate letter said.

Former Governor Ehrlich has promised to cut taxes, and specifically to roll back the 20% increase in the sales tax as a means to stimulate job growth. He believes honestly balancing the budget and reducing the state’s high tax burden will encourage the creation of small business jobs that are the foundation of sustained economic strength and growth.

Governor Ehrlich welcomes the legislators’ expression of support. “I am grateful to my friends in the legislature for their confidence and their leadership,” Ehrlich said. “They share my commitment to helping the private sector create jobs, lowering the tax burden on working families, and getting government to spend within its means.”

I voted for Obama... and I'm voting for Ehrlich.
