Ocean City Snow Removal?

"Hi Joe,

I know you're busy & this isn't earth-shaking, but I wonder what is up with snow removal in Ocean City? My husband works there and has noticed none of the side streets around where he works have been touched. Several people have gotten stuck trying to get to the building he works in. I know snow at the beach is almost unheard of, but do they usually just wait for it to melt?"

The side streets in Salisbury hadn't been touched when I came into work this morning. My street was about 3-4 inches of soft slush so a plow would've cleared it with no problem.

Gotta save the snow removal budget for the storm coming this weekend.

IF we do indeed get hit again.

Most of the snow on the roads in Salisbury City limits has melted, haven't come across any bad streets today.

What I will say is they did a horrible job on the Snow Emergency routes in Salisbury this past storm.

OC gets less snow than Salisbury, and look how long it takes for us to get plowed! Your best bet is to start shoveling, or haul buckets of salt water out of the ocean.

The county plowed the road I live on ..over and over and over again even though there are only 4 houses total on this road! I don't understand the plow system/ order in some of the counties around the eastern shore.

the crews have been out since sunday early. oc has alot more street then what alot of people think. the ice made it harder to get cleared but today there was a major dent made to the effort with the warmer temps. call public works at 65th street if there is a major issue that needs to be addressed in a much faster manner then the effort that these guys are putting into it. these guys have been busting thier butts for 4 days strait and are doing one heck of a job

Likewise with Salisbury. People have been busting tail. You would not believe how many people left their cars on snow emergency routes.

Come on, people. We had a FOOT of snow. First time in 10 years.

Want to be prepared for clearing a foot of snow every year, then pay more taxes. Or press the mayor to cut something you think is less important than a big snow once or twice every 10 years.

I'd rather deal with a snow headache for a couple days than pay more taxes. How about you?

Disclosure: I am not a city employee. I do think the guys who haul our trash and fix things in lousy weather need a little pat on the back once in awhile. They aren't the ones making the big bucks.

I though the snow removal around salisbury wsa outstanding given the amount of snow and the drastic temps, the plow crews should be commended!

that's what they do around here. But, they don't realize it doesn't melt very fast with such low temperatures.

Just another reason to "RAISE TAXES". Why not STOP USELESS & WASTEFUL SPENDING?
