i would like to know when they started plowing the streets my street has not seen a snow plow on it since the snow has stopped and then they say they will site me if i dont shovel my sidewalk i think i will do my sidewalk when they do mt street my tax's at work i see
I think it is a poor job not plowing the side streets even 3 or 4 days after the storm. Not only that but the snow emergency road was plowed and it left a 2 foot mound leading into my street.
It's not just the city who can't plow. Over on Bent Pine Road where Smith, Cropper & Deeley is, it's a miracle that no one has been killed there. Both the County & City did a horrible job.
I saw a salt truck with a plow working on the street behind me in the city today, 2/3! I guess the city finally got some salt? The snow had already melted; they should have plowed on Sunday.Likewise, the paths and bridges in the city park need clearing.I walked the dog today and it was treacherous down there.People aren't supposed to walk in the park after a snowstorm? C'mon!
8:12, I'm glad for you, but your street must be one of the few that were adequately cleared. I live very near Middle Blvd., and as 6:56 says, it's a mess. Every time we have snow, Middle Blvd. seems to be forgotten. Because there are many trees on the street, the sun doesn't melt the snow as much as on other streets. Each night the slush freezes over, and this continues for a couple of weeks. Ride down any street in the Camden area--Middle or North Blvd., Hazel, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Monticello--and you will find it's worth your life to traverse it. Surely Mayor Ireton has observed all of this. Has the new Public Works director seen it? The buck should stop with her, or does it stop with the mayor? We deserve better, much better. Let's see what happens after the storm that is predicted for this coming weekend.
I want to know why sidewalks weren't cleared- all along 13, they are covered with snow, causing pedestrians to walk in the street. It doesn't make sense. I thought walks were to be cleared within a certain number of hours after a storm ended. And those poor PRMC employees who have to part across the street actually have to trudge through the snow because they don't have a clear path.
And, I have to agree- snow removal efforts absolutely sucked! My street isn't clear, even today.
I believe the most recent storm a state of emergency was posted and a lot of people on Priscilla (which is an emergency route) did not bother to move their vehicle, one being a company truck owned by Royal Plus. And were they ticketed...no, there are no repercussions and they know it. There are still piles of snow blocking the street where the plow had to go around them. And to date most of my neighbors have not bothered to shovel their side walk, so the dog and I get to walk in the road and dodge traffic... fun times. Maybe the department responsible for monitoring this should get out of their chair and drive around and see the situation instead of waiting for the phone to ring and having neighbors narc on each other.
All I had to do was ready Thursday's Daily Times front page and get irate. Poor business owners downtown are all pi@@ed off because the walksways weren't cleared and their business is slow. I know 90% of downtown is vacant, BUT I also know they sell snow shovels almost everywhere and since business is slow, why don't the business owners that are downtown go buy a shovel, and be neighborly and shovel the sidewalks in front of vacant buildings that lead to their open business. Poor, pitiful downtown businesses think the city should come shovel their sidewalks for them. Get real and do your own sidewalks and those next to you on both sides if they are empty.
These must be some highly paid snow plow drivers. They certainly haven't put their plows to use. The city streets are deplorable. Downtown you can't even get to parking meters on Main St. Just wait until more gets dumped on top of it. Maybe Pam Oland is doing her accounting thing again! You think????? WE all know she doesn't know how to use a calculator. Maybe an independent consultant needs to be called in and see what the expenses really are?????

What a joke! Come on down Middle Blvd Jim and see how well our street was plowed. We have a foot of slush!I got stuck today...4 days after the storm!
what a joke! the city puts out a memo today that they plan on plowing the snow from a storm that occurred on saturday!!! Bureaucracy at its finest!

My road was plowed and has been clear since Sunday. I live right in the city.

IDIOT! Wait for the other event, then plow. Why are the vehicles parked on snow emergency roads not already removed?
Do I recall the prisoners shoveling snow for the private sector a few years back?
I recommend bringing back this practice.
