Location: Super Spirits, 512 West Main Street, Stanton, Delaware, New Castle County
Date of Occurrence: Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at 11:30 p.m.
Suspect(s): Alfred White, 40, formerly of New Castle, Delaware
Resume: On February 2, 2010 at approximately 11:10 p.m., Troop 6 patrol units responded to Super Spirits, 512 W. Main Street in Stanton, for a reported burglary in progress.
Upon the officer’s arrival, units determined that someone had entered the above premises by breaking through the front glass window. Once inside, the suspect had removed several items (i.e., alcohol and cigarettes).
DSP and New Castle County Police officers converged on the scene and canvassed the area. During this search, they successfully located Alfred White walking along Route 4. He was in possession of the stolen property from the liquor store.
White was taken into custody without incident. A records check revealed Mr. White was just released from the Sussex Correctional Institute the day before after being there since December 9th of 2009.
Alfred White was formally charged with Burglary (felony), Criminal Mischief (misdemeanor) and Theft (misdemeanor). He was ordered held at the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of a $1,500.00 secured bond.

Hmmm, sounds like he had it made and doesn't want to have to work to keep warm and eat. Lots of them like that. No worries, someone does everything for you, no bills to pay, lots of rest & TV. I think we need to change the system!
The least the jail could have done is give him a few bucks for a bottle. He would not have had to rob the store then.
