People are walking into traffic on Rt. 13 and elsewhere and just asking for trouble. Now I understand the sidewalks are pretty much useless where the City & State are responsible but walking into traffic, its just not worth it Folks. Stay home, stay dry, stay warm and stay alive.

I just saw on the National Weather Service site that they are calling for MORE snow this Monday and Tuesday!

so guess spd needs to start writing tickets,looks to me as if they arent taken it seriously.i dont believe all of them are emergency personal of some sort
i would never walk with my back to traffic. walk so you can which drunk or crack head is about to run over you.

I can't believe people would be so stupid to risk their lives walking around moving cars on the ice that could easily slide into them! Dumb, Dumb, Dumb! Police need to start issuing tickets to pedestrians too!
Although I do not agree w/all that Gov. O'Malley stands for politically, I want to publicly thank him on this site for allowing state employees to stay home today and closing state offices. I really appreciate the opportunity to be home safe, warm, and not stressed out about taking too many days off from work or trying to make it in. I am sure the emergency workers and essential staff appreciate this to so they have less cars on the road and less people to bail out.
9:50 am, I heard it's supposed to be a big storm too! That they think the brunt of it will go up north, we could still end up with atleast a few inches.

I had to go to PetsER early this morning (that's a whole other story) and I have to say I was impressed on what a great job the plows did getting this mess out of the way. ALthough the main streets were packed and icy, they were as clear as these crews could get them, and wide. Citizen in the city have no choice but to walk in the streets because our neighbors do not bother to shovel their walks. Church St, which is primarily residential is rarely cleared. Some folks have to walk to work. So quit being lazy and get your shovel out. Now is not the time for "its not my problem" now is the time to be civil. And if you are on the road, be polite to those walking, they have no choice.
I was told by my job to come in today in Salisbury. I told them that there was a driving ban and state of emerg. til at least 3pm.. they said " yeah we know but if your going to and from work u are allowed on the road".. thats not even correct .. Esp since I'm not essential.
The state police should just put up a roadblock on 13 and start writing tickets for people driving when they are not supposed to. Think of how much money they would make for the state!
i can't understand why some people feel the need to hit the roads when they know it is bad out!? everyone thinks that they are invisible and can do anything. everyone is talking on their phones, texting, taking photos, plowing into plows! the plow drivers can't do their jobs. they have it hard as it is.
