Two wings, (E & A) experience pipes bursting on Monday. By the time they realized it the flooding was out of control. We're told the Computer Lab is a complete loss and it's been reported it looked like it was raining inside when they got in there.
OK MSM, time for you to get to work on this story.

Wow, any idea how long that will take to fix/the extent of the damage?

the old school. they aren't in the new school yet. it's not even finished.
where are the kids going to go now? it will take forever to repair the damage, and then they have to make sure they don't have mold.
I guess they turned off the heat to save money?
I just find it kind of ironic that something like this would happen during the schools last year of use.
Isn't the plan to know down the old school? Why repair the lab for 3- 4 months use? Surely, there must be another way? Time for some creative thinking...
Great. More money to Bennett that will prolong other, more necessary upgrades in other parts of the county. Enough with Bennett all ready.
Enough with Bennett already? What kind of comment is that? What are the kids supposed to do? I guess you think the kids should go to school with no running water and busted pipes dripping down on their heads....I guess you think they shouldn't even clean the water out of the hallways and let the mold and mildew create severe health problems for students and staff. 8:51 you are an idiot! I am very interested to hear your plan for what the BOE should do to provide the Bennett students with a structurally safe and healthy environment for the rest of this school year...Its a shame this happened but it just verifies the need for that new school!
They have valves that install in a system that detects problems such as this and prevents continue flow of water while setting off alarms. Oh, I forgot there has been no updating of systems or equipment since 1966, I think that was when it was built. This shows you how preventive maintenece is conducted within the WBOE. No wonder nothing last. They put money in other pet projects or for Teacher benifits. I thought the Students learning ability were the primary concern. How soon will the new school have to be replaced with this mentality?
I am a student at bennett, and the person that made that comment at 8:51, you are ignorant. Bennett high is falling apart. The bleachers have to be repaired almost every week. We have no air conditioning. Do NOT say enough with bennett. We go through enough during the summer when we are in bennett. This just makes it worse. There are two computer rooms in the e wing, probably about fifty computers were lost. What are the tech classes going to do now? Maybe next time before you make a rude comment, you should consider what we have to go through until we get this new school next year.
I have heard from a friend that they are going to be splitting up the students from bennett and sending them to nearby schools. like parkside, wi-hi, and mardela
