Hampton Inn Salisbury Special

Good Morning Joe,

I am a follower of your blog and with the upcoming storm I was hoping you would post something for all of the readers. This past weekend while many were out of power the Hampton Inn Salisbury on Naylor Mill Road was open for business.

We are issuing a special rate for any locals that need to get out of their homes for the night or a couple of nights due to lack of power or just plain cabin fever. We have a great indoor pool, fitness center, game room and a complimentary hot breakfast every morning. Last weekend we had many guests come in from the local area and we love being able to help out where we can!

Please post our special rate of $79.00 under the seasonal special in your blog for all of the Delmarva Locals that need a warm cozy place to stay for the nigh! :)

Hampton Inn Salisbury 410-334-3080
121 East Naylor Mill Road (across from Toys R Us)

Thank you in advance!

Sincerely,
Lindsay Manuel
Director of Sales
Hampton Inn Salisbury

that looks nice and inviting,
how do I pull the plug on a house here???

Are pets allowed at this hotel??

Anonymous said...

Can I get my aarp discount too?

Anonymous said...

How long is this special going on for?

Anonymous said...

I'm curious about pets as well. Having gone 15 hours with no electric last Saturday, I don't think I'm up for that again, especially if it's supposed to be windy. that'll just make it colder!

Is that $79 less than the normal price or $79 a night?

Lindsay Manuel said...

apologies but we are not a pet friendly hotel, the aarp discount would not be on top of this issued rate, aarp is a 10% discount off of our standard rate.

My girlfriend and i decided to stay at her house in the town of Delmar instead of my house out of town. I went and got our Cat in case the electric went out. Our cat wishes we had left her where she was because the electric was out in town for about 33 hours. A warm room would have been nice.

wheres the special price $79 and its winter so its the off season for our area I dont see how thats really a special rate I thought it would of been $40-$60 and nomore than that.I just dont think that its very affordable at this time and Im sure they could do even better than that.

lol.. is this sbynews or priceline? Where's William Shatner when you need him!!!

I think it's a great idea and the price is just fine. Considering you'll be paying to ensure heat, electric and entertainment then why fuss over the price?

BTW it looks like a 25% discount from their normal price. How much more of a discount do you expect?

Just stayed there this past weekend - it was great! The staff is very friendly and everything is super clean, great breakfast in the morning too!

11:01 Do you also think the power companies should pick up the tab? There are motels in the area you can stay at for $40 a night. Enjoy

I know the Fenwich INN in OC used to be pet friendly, not sure if they still are. I know their rates are ALOT lower than $79 a night. Might be hard to find a room in OC this weekend because of Valentines Day.

I would think that since the occupancy right now is very low, they could do better than $79. At $40 or $50 they may not make any money but in times like this that should not be the main goal. That is if you are really trying to be humanitarian. think of empty staterooms on shios and seats on planes. Anything is better than empty. Just my thoughts lol jackkcharl@aol.com

Occupancy is not low, they've been very busy at Hampton Inn

Hope this helps some pet owners. As far as I know, only pet friendly hotel in Salisbury is Comfort Inn.

11:01anon

standard price a night is $104.00

that is why $79 is a special.

lets just say that this discount only applies to the locals,if it was my place of business and this is my way of giving to help my community than it would be like this- you show me some proof of being a local like a driving licnses or just something like that and I would put you in a room for half of that price. $104 is crazy for one night in a room, you cant tell me that they couldnt stand charging $52 for 1 or 2 nights.I would think they could still make out ok with that. After all dont forget that you and your family still needs to go out and pay for dinner,im guessing that feeding a family of 4 at even just an average resturant nothing to fancy is got to be close to $50 atleast,so you are now talking close to $130.Its just "My" opinion that I feel they could give an even cheaper price if they are really truly trying to help the community, and not just trying to use this site as free advertising.Again its my opinion and if you dont agree or even just understand it then you dont have to try to bash me for it,so my guess would be to you bashing me is that money isnt a problem to you like it is to me then so be it go pay for it but i can tell you that you wont see me there Ill be at home in the cold and dark covered up with an extra blanket or two. lol bash me away!

I could not have said it better myself..Mr Holland lol

It's funny how people can complain about somebody offering a good deal. Stay at home and freeze if the $79 is too much for you. If it was free, someone would gripe about the parking. What a bunch of whiners!!!

The pool looks warm !

"You couldn't please some people if you hung em with a new rope " My mama always said. Alot of truth there. But I do agree $79.00 does not really seem like a slashed price especially in the dead of winter.

1:24..i agree..Im a business owner..you try to do something nice by offering a discount..they still try to beat you down. Dealing with the public, has become frustrating. This is the first hotel to offer something like this..if you dont like it find another and pay 40-60. Thumbs up to Hampton Inn.

Welcome to Delmarva 1:24.

we had to stay at the microtel on merritt mill they charged 69 for a suite very friendly but hard to get in and out of the lot

For a few miles more you make out a lot better at the Francis Scott Key in Ocean City. $70 for a family of four, with a free large pizza and it's always 84 and sunny in their caribbean key theme pool.

Anonymous said...

2:37 you can find hotels better and cheaper than this so called discount in OC.

Anonymous said...

I stay in hotels a because I love to travel and I can tell you $79 a night is not a special price. You can find $59 prices in resort areas and this is not a resort. This city is infested with crime and that rate is criminal.

Anonymous said...

it's not the off season when you have companies in the area- if you can travel to oc then the weather isn't a problem.

You get what you pay for... I think $79/night for a place with a pool, gym, game room, AND breakfast is a damn good deal. Now I'm sure if you stayed at the $40 a night hotel you would get a complimentary roach infested room. It's a business and they can't do everything for free or at cost. Everyone shouldn't be standing around waiting for a hand out. They didn't have to discount the price AT ALL- but they did. Businesses are out there to make money so they can employ people, employed people make money, money makes the world go round. So why should they do it for cost (basically free)? That's ludacris and I'm sure you wouldn't agree if your company did that- chances are you wouldn't have a job for very long! The people plowing driveways are charging 50-400 dollars a pop. At least for $79 you get a warm place to stay, activities to do, breakfast, and maybe even a work-out!

Just checked the rates at Fenwick inn..... 39 bucks a night..and they have some type of special where the second night is 1/2 price......but seems they are booked this weekend because of Valentines day. I will keep them in mind if we lose power.

Anonymous said...

You know...I'm disgusted with the majority of people commenting today...this lady is doing her job - marketing her hotel. If you don't like the rate...don't go or find a cheaper hotel in town. There are plenty but they might not be as clean & friendly!

Want to bet you will be willing to pay a lot more when you don't have heat or when the kids are driving you insane from being home for a week!?

Anonymous said...

if you can afford to pay 80-100 dollars for 1 night in a hotel room then chances are you can afford to buy a generator to run your whole house off of until the power gets turned back on. $79 dollars per night! Come on give me a break!

Its my turn to say my peace.

First of all, I want to thank Lindsay for her very kind and professional letter, as well as support.

The Hampton Inn is a very fine Hotel with amenities unlike most of the other lodging in this area.

IF you choose to go elsewhere, that's your option. However, Lindsay was wise enough to step up to the plate and offer their facility as an OPTION.

If you'd like to drive to Ocean City for a better rate and deal with the ice on the roads, go for it. If you'd like to pay $49.00 a night and watch a television with knobs still on it to change the channels, that's your choice.

In the mean time, if you'd like to lodge at a fine Hotel with obviously kind people, the Hampton Inn is the place for you.

So Lindsay, just ignore these ignoramuses and know those of us who have traveled know we'd truly enjoy hanging out with you there.

Happy Birthday, Miss Lindsay(tomorrow}. Guess who.

I am here now Joe. Perfect escape!! We made a mini vacation out of it. Tommorow pool and the workout room, then a movie. Kids are very excited to go swimming. Thanks for the idea. Staff is very friendly.

I travel at least once a month and I never pay $79 a night for a hotel room! The only bad room I had was in a place in SC but outside of that isolated incident the rooms I get are clean and warm for around $55 a night.
Then again a business is a business and it runs by marketing and take advantage of certain situations. Personally unless my power was out for at least 24 hours I would make do with what I had such as blankets and heavy clothes! People tend to panic often, I saw a woman earlier saying she was affraid she was going to freeze to death because she was without power for 55 hours! Come on unless she is running around in a tube top and shorts she is not going to die! Keep it together people, a little snow and out of the ordinary circumstance will not be the end of life as we know it!
