Attempted Murder Suspect Returned To Kent County, Delaware


Suspect: Daemont Wheeler, 30, Dover, DE

A 30 year-old Dover man wanted for attempted murder has been returned to Delaware to face charges.

Wheeler was tracked by U. S. Marshals to Wayne County, Michigan where he was taken into custody. He was extradited back to Delaware yesterday after he was captured in January.

Wheeler was wanted for the November 13, 2009 shooting of a 48 male which occurred on John Clark Road outside of Dover. The shooting left the male in critical condition. Wheeler fled the state shortly after the shooting and was at large until his arrest.

He was formally charges with attempted murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. He was committed to the Department of Correction in default of $97,000 cash bail.
