I have been looking for information on this and very few people knew it was an almshouse in the 1800. If anyone can help with information of when it was the poorhouse please email me at wdisharoon27123@comcast.com
My uncle and aunt bought this place in the early 1960's. They had about 300+ acres with the poor house. Bob Dunn ( Mike Dunns father)sold them this place , he was working as a realtor then. Their names were Bill and Lil Moton. I used to hunt the property along with most of the family. They had Logan Widdowson as a lawyer , I believe he was responsible for helping the purchase and the sale after my uncle passed away. It was a beautiful place to visit , that is one of the reasons I moved from the D.C. area over 30 years ago. Wayne
Last I heard it was owned by a couple from somewhere in Europe. Not sure if they still own it, but I think they discontinued the B&B and use it as their residence sometimes in the summer.
