Rural Electric Youth Tour And Scholarship Opportunities

RURAL ELECTRIC Washington Youth Tour for
High School Juniors

An all expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., June 13th – 17th will be awarded to two high school juniors from our area.

This once in a lifetime event brings together over 1,500 young people from across the country for fellowship, fun and a chance to “see their government in action”. Highlights of this trip include visits to the offices of Senator Carper, Senator Kaufman and Congressman Castle. Students will also visit the Newseum (http://www.newseum.org/), which is the world’s most interactive museum, where five centuries of news history meets up-to-the-second technology on America’s Main Street and the museum of Crime & Punishment (http://www.crimemuseum.org/). There will also be time to socialize with many other students as well during a boat cruise on the Potomac River and the all states dinner dance.

Applicants must be high school juniors, whose parent(s)/guardian(s) receive electric service from the Delaware Electric Cooperative. For more information, visit www.delaware.coop/youthtour.php or contact Kevin Yingling at 302-349-3120 or Kevin@decoop.com.
