Chai Feldblum, the Georgetown University law professor nominated by President Obama to serve on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, has written that society should “not tolerate” any “private beliefs,” including religious beliefs, that may negatively affect homosexual “equality.”
Feldblum, whose nomination was advanced in a closed session of the Senate Health Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee on December 12, published an article entitled “Moral Conflict and Liberty: Gay Rights and Religion” in the Brooklyn Law Review in 2006.
“Just as we do not tolerate private racial beliefs that adversely affect African-Americans in the commercial arena, even if such beliefs are based on religious views, we should similarly not tolerate private beliefs about sexual orientation and gender identity that adversely affect LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender] people,” the Georgetown law professor argued.

Yes, please control my thoughts... and make me a criminal for my opinions.
You can go away now.
Thanks for posting this article Joe. I'm a big fan of Glen Beck and he also does a great job at bringing this sort of thing to light.
Progressives are people we all should be very, very, afraid of.
Obama's "Mind Police" are out there.... So were Hitler's..

I think she makes a perfectly valid argument.
There is an inequality with most people treat the LGBT, at it looks a whole lot like civil rights did before we woke up to the reality of that situation.
The truth is that a lot of people attempt to use their religion to justify their obvious contempt towards the LGBT community.
Not one of you have actually commented on the story btw... just more posturing as usual...
Hi Redbird. I think liberals are trying to make this country so politically correct that it won't be long before we are required to state our name, gender, ethnic heritage and sexual preferences when filling out forms or making introductions.
When you think about it you can't always tell if someone is a man or woman, or what race they might belong to and I have a really hard time trying to determine someones sexual preference.
For me, all this talk is just blab.
I agree with the professor.
Really, Redbird? A perfectly valid argument?
Are you willing to give up your right to free speech and even thought based on her argument?
I'm not.
She's wrong. People are entitled to their opinions, like them or not.
Your post has some 'hate' speech toward religion.
Should it be banned? Should you be fined and/or jailed for it?
That's where she's headed with this..
If we are to be fined, jailed or "banned" for our thoughts & opinion, there wouldn't be space in the prisons & the country would be wealthy from the fines.
I agree with her.
Oh, I can just see it now. Obama will set up Government set aside programs and affirmative action for queers deviants and perverts.
The very premiss of her argument fails on the fact that the devient sexual choices of those groups shes trying to gain control of, are contrary to biology.
Clever to try and connect the queers to the struggles that people of color had (have).
Only the most shallow would fall for her attempt to force the queer perverted choices of some on to all.
Good for her.
7:40- Contrary to biology? You are contrary to intelligence, you ignorant ass! A person doesn't choose to be gay any more than you choose to be straight. As for struggles of blacks, at least they don't have to worry about someone finding out they or black, nor do they have to tell their mother. Word!
7:40-
so what you are trying to say is that you yourself are confused about your own sexuality and that you feel like you need to experiment to be sure if these "urges" are real?
please clarify.
I think my statement speaks for itself. It sucks, but living in the closet is an unfortunate reality, even when in a monagamous relationship. No confusion, my friend, and the attraction is as much emotional as it is physical. As humans, we all want someone to love. The only difference is what team we're playing for (no women's fast-pitch jokes). Later.
