Goodfella's In Pittsville Have Closed Their Doors

We just learned that Goodfella's in Pittsville have closed their doors. We're sorry to see them go while we see GM, Chrysler, AIG & others still line their pockets with bonuses and bailout money. God Bless America & Obamanomics.

This will be the year of years for business failures. 2010 will go down in history. Believe me when I tell you this. Obama has made his mark and we will suffer . This was his plan to make a slow failure so that most wouldn't recognize it. Please arm yourselves!

6:01: arm yourself for what?

Good food, good people, but so many can't go out to eat these days. We are all either unemployed or wondering what day we will be, and hanging on to every dollar. This is a plan to make us all wanting to be "dependent" on the Gubmint. Hold on, people, we must fight this fight and win. Free market is the only way to go.

So sad there are so many local small businesses that just can't stay open. I know there will be more to close. Thanks Obama...for doing such a bang up good job! Jerk!

I stopped in for directions in early May and their were two people sitting at a table. I can't believe it held in there this long.

We used to go there until he started putting up Obama signs. Hows that hope and change working for you now?

Orson,
Free Market is an illusion. It never was real. It was the trick used by an elite wealthy group to control our lives and economy. These are the descendents of the people who started the Bolshevik Revolution. They are globalists. Our President is a part of their secret affiliation of partnerships and alliances. The Bushes, Clinton, Gore, McCain, Obama are all part of the same secret racket to dictate the desires of the elite who hide behind the scenes.

The problem with Free Market is that there are always alliances and colusion among the richest members of the society. They refuse to compete against each other. The poor and working poor fail to realize this basic flaw with the scheme. They have convinced us to cheer for a free market economy when it was a free market paradigm that led us here. The bankers are secret members of an elite cartel. The members are born into their roles.

Truth is stranger than fiction.

the one in Princess Anne didn't last very long. It was in the building with Cheers. Went in one day and was suprised by the high prices and average food, could this be why they didn't last?

Our leaders are pushing towards 'large business'. Independent Small Businesses really can not compete in the current business economic climate.

They think that 10 businesses hiring 1000 people each is better than 10,000 businesses hiring 1 new worker.

Until our leaders changes their views and realize that it'll be the small businesses that pull us our of this downward spiral small business is doomed.

I am hoping that 2010 finds business getting better. But I am afraid that many of those who were able to slide through 2009 will fold in 2010.

Support your local business. They are your friend and neighbors.

10:23, your explanation that you are a "redident" of Pittsville was entirely superfluous. Did you think we couldn't figger that one out? Shore could!

Yes! Support your local restaurants. LORA (Local Owner Restaurant Association). When you do get to eat our think local. A large persentage of what you spend stays local. New pesident is Chef Stewart Davis of Flannerys and Vice President David Wharton of Cakes by David.

Thats funny, they supported Obama and now they are bellied up. That must be a curse. Obama signs will make you close up shop lol Ask for a bail out GoodfFellas

C'mon people! This has nothing to do with Obama. Give it a rest.
This place closed because of other reasons stated here like the outside of the building. It also had inconsistencies in the food. It was never the same twice just like their location in Delmar was and they've closed that one as well.
I know the same person(s) own the place across from the old Lowe's building in Salisbury. Wonder how long that one will last.
If their food doesn't improve, that one will close soon too I guess.
It's a matter of good business practices and nothing more!
As far as the Obama blamers, you apparently are the type of people who think someone is always to blame and you've found yourself a scapegoat. Unfortunately, you seem to want to blame him for EVERYTHING! It's really getting old.

They never supported Obama!

10:54 you have no idea what you're talking about! They were NOT the same owner. They weren't even affiliated with the one in Delmar or the folks who own anything near the old lowes building. Everyone has to one degree or another been affected by this poor economy. Obama may have inherited a weak economy but he has done all the wrong things to create an environment conducive to restoring it. He owns the current level of unemployment due to his actions to continue the bailout of large corporations. If that money had gone into the pockets of the citizens followed by a monumental downsizing of the federal government with a corresponding permanent tax cut, this economy would have turned around almost immediately with sustained growth and job creation. Our government - both parties - seem to have forgotten that our nation and every part of it begins and ends with the people.

the gril that was running it won
10,000 dollars from demar fire dept. she may be taking a break.

As much as I think Obama is a disaster so far, it's a real stretch to blame him or the government for this failure.

Was it Obama's fault that Waterman"s closed too???

Do yourselves a favor...any Friday or Saturday night take a look at the national chains parking lots...Olive Garden...Red Lobster...Applebees etc etc....packed with lines out the door. Then take a look at the local eateries.

Too many people in the area simply do not support the locals and opt for the nationals.....then wonder why the local guys give up.

Well its funny...but why is it that bankers can get together and say "well we are thinking about charging 5% for a loan and the next banker goes we are going to charge 5.001% and its leagal...but if say a pest control/service assc. says well you SHOULD charge 95.00 for a service...its called price fixing?

You guys will be missed.

I don't understand how we can blame this on anyone really. Yes the economy is bad, but like someone already stated, more people are going to national chains where they can expect consistently good food and service. Maybe this place wasn't all that great. I had their pizza once and I wasn't impressed really. Not every locally owned business is going to succeed. If you really think about it, a lot of them fail eventually, even in a good time for the economy.

This doesn't surprise me at all, the food was horrible. I live less than a mile away and would rather go into Salisbury for pizza than eat GoodFellas.

if the girl who runs the place won 10 grand she should have used it to pay the several judgements that are against her. noone has had any kind of business there since paul campbell had the store years ago .one of the ole timey country stores that is now a thing of the past

Anonymous said...

The person that was talking about the owners "several judgements" if you looked you would see that it is all Medical. She has alot of health problems and has done for a long time. Who are you to judge?

That was the only place that would deliver to my house!
