Please Help This Dog Get Home

Joe,

Could you please post this on your site in hopes of finding the owner of this dog . . .

Lost Owner

I live in Mardela on Norris Twilley Rd (near Sharptown) and this sweet dog has lost his owner. This male yellow lab (mix) dog showed up last Thursday and is still at my house. Wears a black collar, but no tags. I have been feeding him in hopes that his owner would find him soon, but I am unable to keep him. If this is your dog, please call me at 410-251-7975.

I already have four dogs but I hope you find his owner. Meanwhile I also hope he has warmth and isn't left outside like he looks in this picture.

You should take his to the humane society, they can scan him for a microchip.

I think I saw something in the Mardela post office about a missing lab. I'll check it tomorrow, but if you go by there, you should post his pic asap before the holiday -- and please please please don't take him to the humane society!

Why not tske him to humane society? That is what they do isn't it?

Not always. I had a friend (totally responsible) who wanted to adopt a dog, went there and found a lady crying as she was unloading her pups toys (she was moving into a non pet area) and the friend agreed to give the dog a good home. The humane society declined letting her do that: since dog was registered it had to go thru all the red tape (even tho it had not been left inside yet). AND if all that was ok then the friend had to pay $100 and go thru the adoption process. Still not a bad deal but sometimes there are better ways. I truly admire the Humane Society and love all animals, have 2 rescues myself; but again reason should enter into situations.

Beautiful dog. Great of you to feed him. Agree he needs to be out of the weather. At least access to a barn or something.

you can bring him to Healing Hands Animal Hospital in Salisbury. They will scan him for a microchip for free. open 8am-7pm Wednesday 12/23, you do not need an appointment for this. Good luck!

Way to go again, dog owners. I'm beginning to think this area of the Shore has the most irresponsible dog owners.

Not only Healing Hands, but most vet offices will scan for a microchip.

Has this owner been found? I would take him to the Ocean City Humane Society before the Wicomico, they do good work and are a no-kill shelter...if he has a history at the Wicomico Shelter they will not do much to adopt him out.
