A Merry Christmas In Pittsville

Last night several hundred people showed up in Pittsville to support the Salvation Army Red Kettle Drive. Santa was present to greet all the children fighting the bitter cold but anxious to pass their Christmas Wishes on to Santa and walked away with a cup of hot chocolate and a bag of pop corn.

The support shown by Salisbury News Readers was simply overwhelming, as well as their donations. We raised more money in three hours than an entire day at Gander Mountain.

Fernando & Alex Guerrero were present along with their Trainer Hal Chernoff. Stacy Sakai also came to visit and show her support as well as Innae Park from 47 News, (WMDT).

If you'd like to see this incredible display it will be open through New Year's Day, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting.

I want to personally thank all of you who came out to support this event both in person and financially.

I think Fernando's an inspiration to all the local kids and I wish him much luck in and out of the ring. I would, however, like to see him pose without the clenched fist bit once in a while.

Boy do I love me some Stacy Sakai.

I was away for a few days. What's the story with Gander Mountain? I've seen a couple of references to them.

Keep up the promotions of the Salvation Army, Joe!! You're doing a lot of good things on Delmarva, especially in Wicomico County!

We went last night and it was amazing, I can't even imagine how much time goes into putting on a display like that, and then to have hot chocolate and popcorn too! It really lifted my Christmas spirit to walk around in the snow, looking at the beautiful decorations and donating a little to charity too. Thank you so much to the people who do this and also those who support it!

Joe,
I had the best time last night handing out popcorn and hot chocolate to all the people that visited. I'd like to thank all the people that helped me and all the people that showed up to support the Salvation Army. A special thanks goes out to Gardner Signs for making the sign for us on such short notice and at NO CHARGE!
SBY news does make a difference. I dont remember the exact wording but someone asked if you were the guy from SBY news or called you by name but her response was I LOVE YOU!
All and all I think everyone had a good time and enjoyed the event.
Thanks for allowing us the honor to help you support the Salvation Army!
Gin & Bill

Thank you Santa. You made my daughter's Christmas so special 8 years ago. She had been ill and had not been diagnosed as of Christmas. Anything she asked for she got.
Well, thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Santa of Parker Place for arranging the arrival of Jingles. She was a small chocolate Chihuahua that would fit in your hand. As the story went, Santa's elves were so busy playing with the puppy that they were not getting their work done making toys for Christmas. Believe me in saying, you made a believer of my daughter, and you are the true Santa. The one year you did not put up your decorations, my daughter refused to go see another Santa, she mailed her list to you. If you were not there, she was not going to see a Santa's helper.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and thank you for all that you and your family (and neighbors) do for our community.
Joe, thank you for bringing this gem to the public's eye and promoting what Santa is really about. Giving to others. Thank you Hal, Fernando and Alex and all that made this event a special year.
