HR 3962 - AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE FOR AMERICA ACT

If you have a week or two with nothing to do, you can Google HR 3962 and download all 1990 pages. At $900 billion dollars it amounts to roughly $2.4 million a word. Interestingly the word "DOCTOR" does not appear in a health care bill.

Not including the table of contents, the word, "ABORTION" appears 23 times. The term "DEATH PANEL" did not make it into the bill, but the section relating to end-of-life care remains in the bill.

HR 3962 imposes 13 new taxes. EMPLOYER MANDATE EXCISE TAX, page 275 , INDIVIDUAL MANDATE SURTAX, page 296, MEDICINE CABINET TAX, page 324, INCREASED ADDITIONAL TAX ON NON-QUALIFIED HSA DISTRIBUTIONS, page 326, DENIAL OF TAX DEDUCTION FOR EMPLOYER HEALTH PLANS COORDINATING WITH MEDICARE PART D, page 327, SURTAX ON INDIVIDUALS AND SMALL BUSINESSES, page 336, CAP ON FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNTS, page325, EXCISE TAX ON MEDICAL DEVICES, page 339, CORPORATE 1099-MISC. INFORMATION REPORTING, page344, DELAY IN WORLDWIDE ALLOCATION OF INTEREST, page 345, LIMITATION ON TAX TREATY BENEFITS FOR CERTAIN PAYMENTS, page 346, CODIFICATION OF THE "ECONOMIC SUBSTANCE DOCTRINE", page 349, APPLICATION OF "MORE LIKELY THAN NOT" RULE, page 357.

If you think you wont be caught by one or more of these new taxes, you are either smoking an illegal substance or are an illegal immigrant.

So, you do not want government bureaucrats making personal health decisions for anyone, EXCEPT in the case of abortion, where government bureaucrats should make personal health decisions for everyone.

Am I reading this right?

Yes, you are reading it right. These people have very shifting principles, they want their freedoms but want to limit others. Pretty typical.

Exactly right 9:11, hypocrites.

9:11am...you are not reading it right, no federal money for abortions, no one is keeping you from practicing irresponsible behaviors, just don't ask taxpayers to foot the bill.

Doctor does not even appear at the doctors office anymore, they want $200 dollars to see a PA.
So what are you trying to say.

9:11 AM, You are wrong. I don't believe the government should be making decisions for anyone on almost anything. For your edification and also for some others, Roe vs. Wade is settled law. This was spoken by no less an authority than Justice Scalia.
It is customary, that Justices do not speak of anything they expect might come before them. So to my Conservative freinds, only a Constitutional ammendment could change that. It is almost impossible for that to occur. So stick to issues you can do something about. There are enough of those.

No I dont want to pay for everyones abortion. I am a conservative but dont favor criminalizing abortions, however I dont want to pay for them. If you can get pregnant and want to get rid of it fine, but pay for it yourself.
