Deficit To Be $1.58 Trillion This Year

Budget Shortfall Will Be Slightly Less Than Projected, But More Than Triple Last Year's; Financial Bailouts Cited

(CBS/AP) The White House plans to announce the federal deficit is about $262 billion less than officials predicted earlier this year, in part because the administration has provided less aid than expected to bail out banks.

A White House official says the deficit will still be more than three times what it was last year. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity on Wednesday because the report is not set to be released until next Tuesday.

math may be alittle off but here goes...1.58 trillion, a dollar bill is about six inches long. multiply 1.58 trillion by 6 and you get 9,480,000,000 inches. divide that by 12 and you get 790,000,000 feet, there are 5280 feet in a mile. divide these two numbers and you get 149621.2121 miles (remember that this is miles in debt we are in )
the circumfrence of the earth is 24901.55 miles. the nations debt would travel around the earth 6.008509996 times if you lined up all the dollar bills end to end.

math may be off but let someone else figure it out....

just to add one more thing, there are 306,557,000 people in the u.s.a. (as of july 2009).
each person would have to give $5.15 to the feds. to end the debt.
