The main response to Dutch Ruppersberger and his 534 cohorts should be "why
is our dependence on oil, domestic or foreign, continuing to rise?"
Congress can mandate that cars get 40-50 mpg, and
electricity must be generated with less cost and emission discharge. It
can be done . We have the technology. Unfortunately we lack the will or guts to
fight the lobbyists.
Ford stopped making the Taurus that delivered 32 mpg. The replacement is the Ford Crossover with 20 mpg, the exact same mileage a 1908 Ford delivered!!! Why are We going the wrong way??
Would somebody ask Mr. Ruppersberger what in the name of God is the Department of Energy doing? It was specifically created by Jimmy Carter over 20 years ago to decrease our dependence on oil.
They now have 16,000 employees with a $24 BILLION budget AND NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT!!!!
Our Government is BROKEN.

Government safety requirements increased the weight and decreased the mileage.
Do you really think you are ever going to drive around for free once oil is replaced? Please dont be so naive. The government needs the tax. You wont save anything ultimately, you will just be paying someone else.
This is typical government. We laugh and make jokes about the 6
state employees standing around and watching 1 employee dig a hole.
Nobody does anything , sad to say most are black , that's right ,I
know it sounds racist , but it is the truth. Who supervises these idiots? The federal government is the same. Absolutely 0% productive.
People are afraid to get sued for
comments or actios at the work place. I watched again on rt349
last week. Every part of government
is the same way , local , state and
federal. Everyone knows it's true , but again , nothing will be done about it.

Government will be the undoing of us all. They can't get anything done becuase of the special interests willing to do whatever it takes to protect their interests. Add to that our elected officials who serve their own self interest before that of their constituents and you get what we've got!!!
