Incident: Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance

Suspect: 1. Stanley J. Cruz, Jr., 41, Roxbury, MA
2. Trevor D. Horsey, 35, Seaford, DE
Narrative: On 7 June 2009 at 1:17 AM, a deputy from the WCSO stopped a vehicle operated by Stanley Cruz of Roxbury MA, for speeding. Upon making contact with Cruz and his passengers, the deputy discovered the vehicle had been rented and the renter was not in the vehicle. The deputy also observed that Cruz appeared nervous while speaking with the deputy. A WCSO drug K9 team arrived and scanned the vehicle for the presence of the odor of illegal drugs, during which the K9 alerted positively to that odor. Based on the alert, the deputy searched the vehicle and discovered Cruz to be in possession of what the deputy recognized as marijuana. During a search of a passenger, Trevor Horsey, the deputy located cocaine hidden in Horsey’s shoe.
The deputy transported both Cruz and Horsey to the Wicomico County Central Booking Unit where they were processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, both Cruz and Horsey were detained by the Commissioner in the Detention Center in lieu of bonds of $5,000.00 and $12,000.00, respectively.

Location: 25300 block of Rewastico Road, Hebron, MD
Suspect: Justin J. Rebino, 18, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 7 June 2009 at 7:43 AM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a corn field in the 25300 block of Rewastico Road for the report of an individual who was driving through the corn field, causing extensive damage to the corn that had been planted. Upon arrival, the deputy located Justin Rebino, who was attempting to get his vehicle un-stuck from the field. Investigation revealed that Rebino had intentionally entered the field and began cutting "donuts" in the field. This was evident by the tracks left by Rebino’s vehicle. Examination of the tracks also revealed that it appeared Rebino was accelerating while turning the wheels of the vehicle. The property owner estimated the value of the damage to be in the neighborhood of $1,000.00.
The deputy placed Rebino under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, Rebino was released by the Commissioner on Personal Recognizance.

Location: 2500 block of Murphy Street, Salisbury, MD
Suspect: 1. Juvenile female, 12, Salisbury, MD
2. Juvenile male, 16, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 7 June 2009 at 7:16 AM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into the theft of a motor vehicle that occurred in the 2500 block of Murphy Street. The victim informed the deputy that upon waking up on 7 June, her vehicle was missing from her driveway. After an investigation by the deputy, it was discovered that two juveniles, who had been in the victim’s residence the previous evening, had removed the key to the victim’s vehicle. Upon the victim going to bed for the evening, the juveniles returned and drove away in the vehicle.
The vehicle was recovered later in the day on 7 June and was returned to the victim. During the investigation, the deputy located the two individuals responsible for the theft and placed both under arrest. Upon arriving at the Sheriff’s Office, the deputy contacted the Department of Juvenile Services who advised to release both juveniles to their respective parents. The deputy charged both juveniles on a juvenile referral.

Location: 25000 block of Elzey Brown Loop, Mardela Springs, MD
Suspect: Pending
Narrative: On 6 June 2009 at 7:58 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to investigate a residential burglary in the 25000 block of Elzey Brown Loop in Mardela Springs. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the unknown perpetrator (s) entered through a rear window, which was discovered to have been pried open. Taken during this incident were household electronics and video game systems

Location: 7100 block of Sixty Foot Road, Pittsville, MD
Suspect: Pending
Narrative: On 7 June 2009 at 2:51 AM, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported alarm activation at J.T.’s Market located on Sixty Foot Road in Pittsville. Upon their arrival, they discovered that the glass had been smashed from the front door and an unidentified suspect stole cigarettes from the establishment.
