Incident: Possession of CDS

Accused: Thomas Edward McGarvey w/m, DOB: 02/16/1966 of 102 Gurney Drive, Fruitland, Md. 21826

Charges:
Possession of CDS (Crack Cocaine)
Possession with intent to use Drug Paraphernalia

Disposition Remanded to the custody of WCDC Central Booking unit

Narrative:
On the morning of Saturday, June 6th, 2009, a Fruitland police officer was following up an investigation of a wanted person and a stolen vehicle when he observed both in the public parking lot of the Giant food store on S. Salisbury, Blvd. He called for assistance from the Salisbury police department due to jurisdictional concerns, and upon their arrival, made contact with the accused who was the lone occupant of the stolen vehicle. During the contact with the accused, several pieces of suspected CDS were observed in the vehicle as well as a glass tube with copper mesh pushed into one end of the tube which had burnt residue. The accused was arrested on a warrant for the illegal possession of the vehicle and subsequent charges for the possession of the controlled dangerous substance.

I too know this individual and it saddens me that he has apparently slipped back into using. He is indeed a very smart and likeable guy, and I hope the courts don't give up on him. There is a lot of tragedy behind the news of each police arrest.
