Think Carefully About What Your Reading

Mary, had a little Lamb,

His fleece was white as snow.

And everywhere that Mary went,

The Lamb was sure to go.

He followed her to school each day,

It wasn't even in the rule.

It made the children laugh and play,

To have The Lamb at school..

And then the rules all changed one day,

Illegal it became;

To bring The Lamb of God to school,

Or even speak His Name!

Every day got worse and worse,

And days turned into years.

Instead of hearing children laugh,

We heard gun shots and tears.

What must we do to stop the crime,

That's in our schools today?

Let's let The Lamb come back to school,

And teach our kids to pray!

Your kids can be taught to pray at a private school. Isnt our country founded on seperation of church and state? If you wanna teach your children to pray take them to Church.

CHURCH SHOULD NOT BE IN SCHOOL AT ALL! you dont need god in your life to be a good person!!! I dont believe in the bible at all... I believe in a god and there is something higher above us but not the bible... how can you prove all of that happened? you can't...

I think the bible is a bunch of BS! I don't live my life by whats in the bible... I hate people who live by this book word by word... No I cant prove that there is a god. I dont believe there is heaven and hell I believe you have a spirit but it lingers. I think you can believe that there is something higher above us without believing in the bible. I dont understand how people can devote their whole life to Jesus and God..

Anon. 8:18 am you don't need to go to church to be taught how to pray! Yes that is a great place, but you can pray where ever you want in bed at night, before breakfast, on your way to work, before dinner, before getting ready for the day. You can pray ANYWHERE and whoever wants to can.

Anon. 9:05 am. Why don't you be quiet. If you don't want it in school so bad then do something about it. stop complaining about it. I on the other hand belive in it all! You can't prove nothing. Its called FAITH! =) Have a BLESSED DAY!

Whoever doesn't believe in God can immediately stop using our money. Says right on it "In God We Trust". You're also free to leave the country...permanently. There's nothing wrong with a moment of silence in schools for those who wish to say a prayer to do so. Basically, the whole bible comes down to: Be A Good Person by treating others the way you would want to be treated. Miracles happen every day, all you have to do is look & you'll see one.

Why doesnt anyone get that freedon of religion also means freedom FROM religion? I would bet that if they wanted to teach any religion other than christianity, or use any other book than the bible, you would be outraged. Typical.

While I doubt many will read the following for comprehension, I will post it anyway. What Jefferson meant was that there should be NO government SPONSORED religion. He was a deeply religious man but felt it was his business, not the publics. He did not mean that in the public life there should be absolute absence of God.

Here is his originial letter in its originial entirety.

Note to leftists, nowhere does the phrase exist in our founders writings;

"seperation of church and state"

Gentlemen
The affectionate sentiments of esteem & approbation which you are so good as to express towards me, on behalf of the Danbury Baptist association, give me the highest satisfaction. my duties dictate a faithful & zealous pursuit of the interests of my constituents, and in proportion as they are persuaded of my fidelity to those duties, the discharge of them becomes more & more pleasing.
Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man & his god, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, thus building a wall of separation between church and state. [Congress thus inhibited from acts respecting religion, and the Executive authorised only to execute their acts, I have refrained from presenting even occasional performances of devotion presented indeed legally where an Executive is the legal head of a national church, but subject here, as religious exercises only to the voluntary regulations and discipline of each respective sect.] Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties.
I reciprocate your kind prayers for the protection and blessing of the common Father and creator of man, and tender you for yourselves and your religious association, assurances of my high respect & esteem.
(signed) Thomas Jefferson
Jan.1.1802.

What part of

prohibiting the free exercise thereof

Do you people NOT understand?

The lefties hate this phrase because it shows without question that the founding father they like the most said specifically that no one should be prohibited from exercising their religion, in school or anywhere else.

How hard is it to understand?
