Michael Jackson has been taken by ambulance to a Los Angeles hospital after reportedly going into cardiac arrest, TMZ reports. According to the report, paramedics had to administer CPR to Jackson inside the ambulance. The 911 call from Jackson’s Holmby Hills home in Los Angeles was placed at 12:21 p.m. PST. No other details are known as yet, but Jackson’s mother is reportedly already on the way to the hospital. Jackson is in “really bad shape,” an unspecified family member told TMZ, while Jackson’s father Joe told the site, “He is not doing well.”
Jackson is in the Los Angeles area for rehearsals for his upcoming 50-show This Is It! run of concerts at London’s O2 Arena. As Rolling Stone reported, rumors claim that Jackson is often absent from the rehearsals, with a stand-in required to take Jackson’s place. While no reasons were given for why Jackson might be missing the rehearsals, questions regarding the King of Pop’s health have dogged the Thriller singer for years.

Michael suffered a cardiac arrest earlier this afternoon at his Holmby Hills home and paramedics were unable to revive him. We're told when paramedics arrived Jackson had no pulse and they never got a pulse back.
A source tells us Jackson was dead when paramedics arrived.
Once at the hospital, the staff tried to resuscitate him but he was completely unresponsive.We're told one of the staff members at Jackson's home called 911.
La Toya ran in the hospital sobbing after Jackson was pronounced dead.Michael is survived by three children: Michael Joseph Jackson, Jr., Paris Michael Katherine Jackson and Prince "Blanket" Michael Jackson II.

I rember in the early 80's wearing the rhinestone glove,in my sockes doing the moonwalk across the floor in the kitchen.i was even at the thriller tour at r.f.k. stadium in 1984. I do not like things he did but no one can take away the things he has givin to todays artist.

How sad that the younger people only will remember his weirdness, when the children of the 70's recall, foremost, how incredibly talented he was. I remember him when he was a little black kid who had more talent than any kid I'd ever seen...singing, dancing, writing songs. The was indeed The King of Pop....until he bacame the King of Weird.

Jackson was a mix of things to love and abhor. His support of Ryan White, the hemophiliac kid who got AIDS from a blood transfusion and was tormented by people ignorant about the illness, was a wonderful thing. The video song tribute he made to Ryan White is powerful. See it here:

Sorry- I don't mean to be irreverent (well at least not entirely)- I'm just not into celebrities and all that "stuff". I don't dispute the contributions he made to the music industry- and I too grew up listening to Thriller and those popular songs, but I feel like there are "normal" people in this world who do absolutely amazing things as well- we are just excited about people who are celebrities.
In regards to his children- based on his weirdness in these later years, I hate to say it, but maybe this will be their best chance for a good life, not one tainted by their father...
I'm gonna remember the young Michael I grew up listening to before all the changes began.
Now he'll eternally be the little boy that always hid inside of a man's body.

Anon 8:38, I completely agree with you. It seems society is more concerned with what happens to people they more than likely will never know, on a real level that is, than with the community surrounding them.
When we read the obituaries we may see a name we once knew and say "Man I can't believe he/she is gone", but we move on within the same hour. When a celeb. dies the media harps on it for weeks.
I have to say my heart goes out to the soldiers and their families that are serving this country more than any TV, movie, or singer.

This often happens with the exploitation of young ones by greedy adults. I am sure this is the case in this case...I call it the "too much too soon" syndrome. It surprises me this didn't happen sooner. How anyone can fritter away so much money is beyond belief. He had to have help from the 2000 of his nearest & dearest friends & family.
It's really too bad, he was such a talent & used to be so beautiful looking, until he tried to be what he was not.

Im sure the autopsy will show he died of two many drugs in his system. He had all these concerts to do that he was not prepared for and most likely IMO committed suicide. Michael Jackson was an awesome musical performer and artist, however let us not forget what perverted and twisted things he was accused of doing with innocent & naive little boys (on more than one occasion) at his "slumber" parties. He bought his way out of having to face his criminal activities. Most of the public chose to forgive him or to ignore the heinous crimes he committed because of his celebrity status, but if he were a common citizen who was not a multi-millionaire he would have been persecuted and shunned for the rest of his life. Those who chose to support him should be ashamed of themselves!
