State Police have arrested an Indian River School District Teacher for Sexual Extortion and Unlawful Sexual Contact 3rd. Troopers took Rainis into custody today at Sussex Central High School where he is an athletic trainer and a full time substitute teacher.
State police began questioning a female student after rumors surfaced that an inappropriate relationship occurred between the two. Troopers learned that while the female student was receiving treatment for an athletic injury, Rainis allegedly touched the victim inappropriately. When the victim attempted to stop his advances Rainis reminded her that he was the only one who could clear her to participate in her sport. State police believe the inappropriate behavior occurred several times in the training room at the high school during the month of March 2009.
State police executed a search warrant at the high school and at Rainis’ home in Lewes and removed electronic devices for forensic examination. The examination will be conducted by the State Police High Technology Crimes Unit.
Rainis was charged with 1 count of Sexual Extortion and 1 count of Unlawful Sexual Contact 3rd. Rainis was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court #2 in Lewes and was committed to the Department of Correction in default of $7,000 cash bail.

yes, it is. What a shame!!!
they need to stop letting young teachers teach high school age kids. the attraction sometimes can be too much. think about it -- these teachers are 24 or 25--they are only 5 or 6 years years older than the seniors. Younger teachers should have to teach younger kids.
You know its not about young teachers, some of these girls dress up like strippers, their T T's popping out of their shirts and skirts so short they were better of wearing shorts.
Men you all know that at least once in your life time or even more girls have tried to provoke you with there sassy ways, I'm a female, and in my younger days I would have probably claimed rape if I was turned down by someone I liked and if they might have made me mad. That’s what a lot of this is about these girls catch feelings and then calls it rape when the male either ignores them or wants to end the consensual relationship. I don't condone that fact that there are some pedophiles out there but a lot of them are accused just because some females think they deserve it all and are above the law.
