Salisbury Police Department Press Releases


Wilson Junior Dormer, 50yoa of Salisbury, MD was arrested for 2nd Degree Assault, Wear and Carry a Handgun, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Possession of Marihuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On June 11, 2009 officers from the Salisbury Police Department responded to the area of Baptist St and E Market St in reference to an assault. Officers met with a victim and witness. It was determined that an altercation occurred between Dormer and the victim resulting in injuries to the victim. The victim was later transported to PRMC/ER for treatment. A description of the suspect was obtained and broadcast to other responding officers. The suspect was located on Mill St near U.S. Rt 50 along with a second subject, identified as Roderick Raphael Gordon, 33yoa of Salisbury, MD.

Both subjects were stopped and advised of the incident that was being investigated. Wanted checks were conducted on both subjects. Gordon was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant from Somerset County, MD for Failure to Appear and Dorman was wanted in Minnesota for an unspecified crime. The witness was transported to the scene where the witness made a positive identification of Dormer being involved in the assault of the victim. Search of Dorman incident to his arrest found a loaded .357 magnum caliber handgun in his backpack as well as a quantity of ammunition. A quantity of suspected marihuana and a smoking device were also located on Dormer.

Juvenile, 15yoa, of Salisbury, MD was arrested for Robbery, 2nd degree Assault, and Theft less than $500. On June 10, 2009 Officer responded to the 900 block of Johnson St for a reported juvenile assault. It was learned through the investigation that the Juvenile became involved in an assault with the victim.

During the assault, the Juvenile took the victim’s cellular telephone and fled the area. The Juvenile was located a short time later and taken into custody. Juvenile Services was contacted and advised of the charges against the Juvenile. After a review of the charges, the Juvenile was released to the custody of a guardian.
