The gas station on Hobbs Road and Old Ocean City Road was just robbed. Wicomico County Sheriff's Deputies have the station blocked off and the School nearby is being heavily searched by Deputies with spot lights. If we get any new information we'll come back and update the Post. Things are getting really tough crime wise on the Eastern Shore.

How many burglaries have there been in the area this week? I thought the shore was a quiet, low crime area that offered a high quality of life? The only way to keep that monumental lie going is by not reporting half of the news thats occurred. Which is exactly what the local MSM does. Once you've lived here and you realize how much crime REALLY does occur and see how backwards nearly everything is there are very few positives of this area. I see why they dont report crime, ignorance is bliss and the locals have to keep the lie going.

we live 2 house from the gas station and my husband has a police scaner and we heard nothing , not even police saying nothing about this, still it is not safe any more !!!

Because anyone can have a scanner these days minutes after a crime the police are communicating by cell phone or other high tech to keep their location and responce secret.
Criminals could use information they hear over scanners to help them escape the scene of a crime.

We don't want the eastern shore to become the western shore and will fight development to keep more people out. You wake up.
The geographical feature known as the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay is not what people are talking about when they refer literally to the Western Shore -- what they REALLY mean is greater Baltimore and Montgomery County, the spots that you crabby locals wouldnt like, where people of color are demographically dominant and elected lawmakers are as liberal as their constituents.
The rest of MD (like garrett, allegany, charles, st marys) is laid back and nice like here.
Anyway -- crime is happening because of the economy. People with no money will do desperate things, and [desire + opportunity] = results.
i live about a mile down the road we never heard anything about this till i read it here.
