Fruitland Police Department Press Release


Incident: Theft over $500.00 / shoplifting

Location: 409 North Fruitland Blvd. Fruitland, Md.

Date and Time: Sunday, May 31, 2009 at 7:59 p.m. and Monday, June 1, 2009 at 1:32 p.m.

Accused: Hector Rivera, Hispanic Male, 5’4”, 150 lbs. dob: 05/04/1965, Brown eyes, Black hair, beard of 12028 Somerset Avenue, Princess Anne, Maryland

Charges:
Theft of three laptop computers having a value of over $500.00
Theft scheme with continuing course of conduct

Disposition: Remanded to the custody of WCDC Central Booking unit

Narrative: On Wednesday, June 3, 2009
, Fruitland Police responded to the local Walmart and contacted loss prevention personnel who advised that there had been three laptop computers stolen from the store. One had been stolen Sunday, May 31st and two more taken on Monday, June 1st, 2009. The loss prevention personnel had examined the video records of those dates and were able to determine who the person was that committed the acts on both occasions and how they managed to do it. They were able to determine what vehicle was used and able to view the registration plates. Via the information provided, the above named accused was identified and located at his residence in Princess Anne where the stolen laptops were recovered and he was arrested for theft.
