Police Investigate Home Invasion/Shooting In Salisbury
By MICHELLE HINKLE -- WMDT 6/3/2009

A gunman is on the loose after breaking into a home and shooting a resident on Baker Street. According to Police, just before 5AM Wednesday, a man broke into the Salisbury home, shooting 21-year-old Jon Duvall. Police say it's a robbery gone wrong.

"He had attempted to rob several of the tenants of that house and during the commission of that robbery a shot was fired and the victim was struck in the upper left chest," said Captain Mark Tyler of the Salisbury Police Department.

After allegedly shooting Duvall, Police say the suspect took several items from the home and fled.

"We're continuing to interview witnesses. We're looking for more witnesses. We're putting together some of the information we're receiving from those witnesses to try to isolate our suspect in this case," said Captain Tyler.

The isn't the first incident on Baker Street. Just last week, residents say there was another burglary.

"We have an increased patrol presence in that area due to some past issues over there in regards to shootings and things of that nature. It's one of those areas that our community action team focuses on," said Captain Tyler.

Salisbury Police say anyone with information about the shooting should call Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776.

After spending 30 years here in the county and much time in the city , I have come to the conclusion that the Salisbury Police are about the same caliber
as the cub scouts. Most of the officers in the city are children
and are not qualified to be officers. How they got through the academy is beyond me! I've seen them sit in thier cars for hours
at the gas station between 13 and easternshore drive on vine st..

Go ahead Louise, clean up the church street area, while you're taking out the trash how about taking out a few criminals. Better hire a greyhound bus to haul all of them out.

That suspect description is the same for just about every crime. Is that FACT or just something your not suppose to talk about?

When the census is done, a bus should be provided. Anyone that doesn't have a picture ID should be hauled in for an attitude adjustment or incarceration, depending on outstanding warrants and citizen verification.
