Home Invasion

Location of Incident: Benson Road, Lincoln, Sussex County

Date and Time of Occurrence: Wednesday June 3, 2009 between 0430 hours and 0530 hours

Suspect(s): Three black male suspects dressed in dark clothing. Two of the males were described as 5’06” to 5’08” in height and the third male was describe as being over 6’ tall.

Resume:

Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred in Lincoln, Sussex County.

At approximately 0430 this morning a 36 year-old male resident was getting ready for work when he heard knocking and shouting outside the front door of his home. When the victim went to investigate, three suspects all dressed in black, entered the home brandishing weapons. The trio forced the 36 year-old and his cousin, who is 43, to the ground. The two were handcuffed and assaulted by one of the suspects. A 21 year-old female, who is the girlfriend of the younger victim, was forced to sit in a chair with her 1 year-old baby while they ransacked the home. Prior to the suspects leaving they tied the female’s hands behind her back.

The female was able to free a hand a call a neighbor who found the victims in the home.

The suspects fled with an unknown amount of currency.

The two male victims were treated by Sussex County Paramedics for contusions but refused to go to the hospital. The baby and the female victim, who was pregnant, were not injured.
