Stevie Marshall is a good ole local boy. He is the Emergency Services Director in Somerset.

You read the article - he went to a Prayer Breakfast. Do you even know if he was on the clock? Does he get annual leave, from Salisbury? Stop trying to make trouble.

Here sits Chief Jack n Coke shoving it in Mayor Iretons face. He has that "You can't do squat about it, Mr. Mayor" look on his face.

He was not on leave, he was there on the city's dime in the city's car. Afterwards he might have gone to Salisbury to work or he might not have. I don't know, I didn't bother to follow him.

they are trying to figure out where to hide the helicopter next.

What is he doing at a Crisfield Mayors breakfast, campaigning for chief of police? If so, I hope he wins the position down there. I'm sure they would love to hear how crime is down and there are no gangs. Maybe they'll believe him. Also, if he is campaigning why is he doing it when he is supposed to be in Salisbury at work? Are we now like the State of Maryland, paying employees to campaign for office?

Jim Ireton, I voted for you and relied on your word. Fire this pompous ass and replace him with a real police chief.

We can only pray.

I hope it pans out for him. Office cop from big gritty city meets quaint, remote community. Sounds like the makings of a fine movie from the people at the Hallmark channel.

1:20,

Jim Ireton does not have the power to fire Webster, only the city council does. Blame your friends who voted for Shanie or did not vote at all!

Hey 2:29

If we paid him by the hours worked
he'd never get a paycheck. You had it right , he logs 12 hrs. a day ,
not worked 12 hours a day.

He probably couldn't get a parking space at the SECU Credit Union on Mt. Hermon Rd. The place looks at times like a Government facility with all the County and City vehicles (including fire trucks). Or, what about the State Highway trucks that roll into UNMES for a free breakfast?

Seems like the Chief wasn't doing anything that the rest of the Government workforce isn't doing. He's just doing it in a different location.

Its called suspending him without pay...a privillage reserved to the mayor

Because he attends one of the local churches. People who attend churches all over Somerset County were there. Also, it started at 7:00 a.m., so I don't think he missed too much time on the job by joining in on a national day of prayer.

It's simple why he was there, that is where he lives. If he drives an official car every day he is logging a lot of miles off duty. Personally I believe a chief should live near the city in which he works. Webster could never get to Salisbury on short notice if needed. As far a Mr. Marshall, he also seems to be wasting tax payers money on personal business. I would suggest that all of these government workers be forced to take a days vacation if they want to attend these functions. I'm surprised that the ACLU doesn't consider this a violation of separation of church and state. Think about it, being paid by the government to attend a prayer breakfast. Just doesn't past the smell test for me. How does the taxpayer bennefit from this activity.

Jim isnt going to do a darn thing and Barrie still controls the counsel. Thats the reality.

LOL he is seen in his "official" car quite often out of jurisdiction in Somerset County.
Running for office?Y'all (Salisbury) can keep him-we do NOT want him.

Hey Kelly! Glad to see you're posting from work again! How you doin these days!?!?

I'm not so sure he's even worth $5 an hour.

This is another example of how governments, Local, County, State etc. promote. It is either GOOD OLE BOYS or go out to private industry and / or other towns / cities to get their leaders. If these individuals were so great in their jobs why did they leave? Answer, they are irresponsible trash.

Maybe we could send Chiefy packing for the Crisfield Police Department? I hear they can't get their own Police Chief to stay out of the American Legion long enough to sober up and do his job. Same for his toothless sidekick Luedtke.

I was all gung ho for Jim Ireton to fire Webster until I actually went and read Salisbury's Charter.

Assuming he had cause (Barrie was very good at hiding things), he'd have to get the council majority to vote for the firing.

The person who blamed the morons who voted for Shanie or didn't vote has it exactly right.
