AP -- While thousands of General Motors workers await word of more U.S. plant closures, there are reports that the company plans to import Chinese-made vehicles to the U.S. That's created a political problem for the automaker and the White House.
The automaker surviving on $15.4 billion in federal loans, largely due to the Obama administration's desire to preserve the company's 90,000 U.S. jobs.
The United Auto Workers charged last week that GM intends to almost double its imports of vehicles from Mexico, South Korea, China and Japan into the U.S. over the next five years. GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson won't comment on the reports. The White House and Treasury Department didn't immediately respond yesterday to requests for comment.

Looks like we are loaning $171,111 per employee to preserve all of these jobs.
We would probably do better to give them $30,000 each to pay their bills and one year of full-time technical training to find them new careers.
This is Obamnomics at work remember it was just the other week that Obama told the 1st in postion investors in Chrysler to take a hike that their decision making input was going to be handle by Obama and the unions. Do you really think that Obama or the unions give a crap about the thousands of non-union employees losing their jobs at all these closed dealerships.
Has anyone else got there 3-D Ford advertising in the mail yet, kinda cool.
