2nd Congressman: Prove Eligibility

Virginia representative signs onto plan to demand evidence
By Bob Unruh© 2009 WorldNetDaily

Now there are two.

A Virginia congressman, very quietly, has signed onto a measure in Congress that would require presidential candidates to verify their eligibility to hold the highest elected office in the United States.

WND earlier reported when freshman Rep. Bill Posey, R-Fla., filed H.R. 1503, an amendment to the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1971.

According to the Library of Congress' bill-tracking website, H.R. 1503 would "require the principal campaign committee of a candidate for election to the office of president to include with the committee's statement of organization a copy of the candidate's birth certificate, together with such other documentation as may be necessary to establish that the candidate meets the qualifications for eligibility to the Office of President under the Constitution."

This seems to be a story the mainstream media refuses to cover why don't we shred what's left of the Constitution and wipe our butts with it ! Where are all the Patriots plotting I hope !

Maybe they're trying to cover their butts since no one's ever doubted a President's Birth Certificate before??? You'd think that's the reason they'd use to sign someithing like this and write a story spinning it that way.

Maybe it's a stupid story. We already have the courts for this, and they can do it in a way that doesn't violate privacy laws and other sensibilities.

Privacy laws??? The man ran for President, his privacy is gone, and it's not against privacy laws to ask for ID, why should a birth certificate be a big deal? This is the highest office in the land, I think they should all have to prove their eligibility. It does say natural born citizen for a reason...I'm thinking the only thing stupid is the question that is never asked and they're alot of people who still doubt his legitimacy, including lawyers, Democrats, the guy in NY who took it to court only to get no satisfaction...

So... You think it would be OK if we all had Obama's social security number?? Access to his birth certificate can be used to get SS#, and be used as a basis for other invasion of privacy. There's a good reason for the privacy laws, since there are dishonest and evil people out there.

And Obama did win the court case, and in doing so, proved his eligibility.

Okay... so? They just need to provide a copy of their birth certificate, right?

Obama did that. To the FEC.

But, I'm glad that there are two wingnut Republican Congresscritters who still think this is an issue.

So, new poll question: How long do YOU think the Republicans will wander in the wilderness before coming back to planet Earth?
