with anal cancer two years ago. She is now reported to not be

receiving additional anti-cancer drugs, and is bedridden and

on i.v. support.

A biography here, with more links here.

It will include video Fawcett shot during her struggle with anal cancer.

Cancer respects no one, no matter race ,creed , color, rich or poor.... beautiful or plain, doesn't matter.

Oh, so sad.
She seems to be best remembered for her ditzy blonde part on Charlie's Angels, and for that poster that was in every men's dorm room or bedroom, but she took on some meaty roles and did well in them.

My wife likes the one where she locks the guy in the fireplace and chains him.

I have had it for 5 years
and it is a very unpredictable
disease . The mental stress can get unbearable at times. God bless
her and give her comfort. Please don't smoke guys , it will catch up to you.

From what I heard, her cancer started with the Human Papiloma Virus. There's a vaccine now that prevents most forms of cervical cancer caused by this virus. I wonder if it could have helped prevent Farrah's cancer had she had the vaccine?

There's no interest in finding a cure for cancer. It's a big money business for too many people. Tis sad, but true.

I just read up on HPV and cancers. Depending on the type of HPV Farrah had that caused her cancer, the HPV vaccine may have been able to prevent her cancer. The catch is, you have to get the vaccine before you're ever exposed to HPV, i.e., before you become sexually active. They obviously didn't have this vaccine early enough for Farrah, but it's not too late to vaccinate our daughters before they become active. I don't know why they aren't pushing to vaccinate males. Here's the cancer/HPV link: http://www.cancer.org/docroot/CRI/content/CRI_2_6x_FAQ_HPV_Vaccines.asp

Some of the press is calling her cancer rectal cancer, maybe because they don't like the word "anal". The rectum and the anus are two different structures. It's sort of like calling oral cancer throat cancer.
The usual causes of anal and throat cancer differ.

Another disservice by those who don't like the sound of some words.

Whoops. I meant the causes of anal and rectal cancer differ.

Farrah Fawcett seemed empty-headed as a young woman, then she did "The Burning Bed," and people saw her talent.

She was still always tabloid news. But then she had the cancer. And she had her doctor visit when she got the news the cancer returned, and more filmed. Keep the camera rolling, she told them. Because this is what cancer is and what it does to people and they need to understand.

So now, people know a little better her real strength and character.

May God be with her, and may we all be a little less hasty to judge.

I've watched the documentary last night and I couldn't stop crying. It brought back memories when my father had colon cancer 30 yrs ago. I was in grammar school at the time. Back in the '70's there was no hope for colon cancer patients to survive. The oncologist told my father he had only 6 months to live but he proved them wrong. He is still alive and kicking today and he will be 80 next year. Only downside is that he has to wear a colostomy bag but it saved his life. Now he is battling prostate cancer. He has it for 10 yrs now but thanks to a very expensive drug called casodex (made in Germany) it so far contains his cancer. There isn't a generic drug for casodex. Anyway, I always thought Ms Fawcett was beautiful and she even showed he beauty more in the documentary. She proved that she is more than just a pretty face. She was very articulate and thoughtful in her written diary. It will take a miracle to save her now, but unfortunately it is too late. She is still young. Farrah may God be with you and your family.

despite all the legal rumors going around, there's a really good chance that Farrah Fawcett's documentary will raise awareness about cancer and thus benefit a lot of people
