This "Children First" is a candid
way of getting funds. What a joke
this is and I thought this guy had a little bit of ethics. Show me the "methodology"

I say we tell the Superintendent to either resign, or try to operate his department without the matching state funds for this subversive bullsh!t.

$500,000 for $5,000,000 in return. I wish I could get that type of return. Sounds like a good investment to me.

anonymous 10:15, another wet pants liberal afraid to use his/her name. No question, someone who works for the BOE. Sad, very sad.

A very good question to ask our County Executive and County officials don't you think?
If our County participated in the MOE State matching funds before, that would mean that a portion of our tax$$$ were collected and allocated for that purpose. So what happened this year? I don't recall a reduction in County taxes, do you?
The county is still collecting our tax $$$, and the funds that should have been appropriated for the MOE State match were allocated elsewhere????

The Board can cut thousands very easily. They can keep either the math supervisor's position or the math coordinator's position, and the same for reading. They can make the public relations job a half time position and keep either T. Sahler or F. Wilson. A committee can do the Teacher of the Year banquet and a secretary can handle people signing up for professional development sessions. The director of curriculum can go and the director of elementary and the one of secondary can work with curriculum. We can stop adding overseers, coordinators and project heads and anyone we can think of to facilities. The position of being a liaison between the high school Choices program and businesses should not be full time. Behavior specialists who are in each of their schools for a few minutes each cycle are useless. Beyond the Limits is a nice program whose staff of veteran teachers should not be paid by the Bd of Ed. Interested schools should pay to have Destination Imagination memberships with teams run by volunteers and teachers and an overseer should not be paid by the Bd. Stop half of the dozens of feel good, we don't believe in consequences programs for kids who don't behave and start an elementary alternative school that is not like a day at the circus. The list can be a lot longer too.
