I will acquire my "I voted" sticker at approximately 5:30pm, with a 3 year old in tow. I told we're going to vote when I pick her up. She thinks we're going to the boat. Oh well, never too early to get them civically engaged! Go, Jim, Go!
The landlords and Barrie are driving poor renters to the polls in droves at St. James. They must be desperate to hang onto Shanie's seat. They're out there in force.
11:54 and 1:54 i have always said that you are a perfect example of taxation without representation. a business owner has at least if not arguably more vested in this town than many of the registered voters. its a shame.
To the folks complaining of taxation without representation, shut the f*** up. Can I be any more clear? If you don't care enough to LIVE here, shut the f*** up. Sorry to be so blunt, but move in or shut up. I may have missed it, but I see Joe investing in this city and not whining about taxation without representation. He chooses to keep his residence in Delmar, and thus makes his personal and familial investment in that community. His business and political investment may be here, but that simply doesn't warrant a vote the way residency does. Time and again we complain about politicians who use the loose residency rules to live one place, vote another; and there was the priceless Anne Coulter move of being a celebrity and voting TWICE in a presidential election (Palm Beach County, New York County). Pick where your private and individual say will be manifested through the democratic process, and stop trying to get multiple votes in communities where your interest is monetary or business-related. We'd all respect you a whole lot more.
PS: almostnotsickofblahblahblah... you're the worst of the lot. Don't count on gaining any community respect regardless of whether you change your tune.
where do you come off with such harsh language? step from behind your mask and say it. joe, can i get that IP address?
blow your smoke all you want. i could name dozens of people with more vested here and with reputable histories both as volunteers and as taxpaying business owners. do tell me how an able bodied renter that lives off of welfare and continues the endless cycle of additional recipients of such, should have any more right to say how governement is run in the city than business owners who simply live outside.
seriously, please explain further on how I am the worst of the lot. inquiring minds would love to know more from such a righteous and cowardice point of view.
It really is very simple. If you own a business and vote there then live somewhere else and vote there, it is two places you vote.........unconstitutional.
2:17 Perhaps those who choose to live outside the city limits but run a business withing those limits should move their businesses elsewhwere....bet the city would really be thriving then.
2:43 i get that. what town/city do residents in say West Nithsdale vote in? I don't feel that anyone should have the right to vote twice or vote in two different towns/cities.

Because people are encouraged to:
Vote early, vote often, vote democratic.

Nope! Even though we own a business and property and pay city taxes we don't get a say in the mayoral candidate.
My vote is in! Here comes Ireton!
Just left the polls. Didn't see a mayoral selection for "Bubba Hogg". Did that guy drop out?
Yes and I voted for Ireton and Campbell. That is the right thing to do. Lets kick Barrie, Bubba, and Budda to the curb!
