2 Suspects Arrested Stabbing Granddad's Sister In Ve Beach
Remember this POST back in September? Granddad's Sister and Husband were attacked in a Hotel Room Invasion and they never thought anything would come of it. It turns out a new Detective was put on the case and within a week he has two suspects in custody. The attack was Gang related. Perhaps Granddad will chime in later to comment.

Joe,
Good talking to you today. A couple of friends told me you put this up so I thought I'd stop by and elaborate on the case.
The original lead detective on this case had been transferred to another location or so I've been told. Another detective was assigned to the case and within 3 days he made an arrest. Upon interrogating this individual they learned that he and two other people were looking for easy victims as part of a gang initiation. The suspect indicated that they were walking on the boardwalk when they noticed my sister, her husband, and another couple walking on the boardwalk. He stated that my sister and the other female appeared to be intoxicated (as I'm sure was the case since that is what they do when they visit every year) and they appeared to be easy targets. They followed my sister and her group back to the hotel and watched them as they went into their rooms. Since my sister and her husbands room was closer to the stairs, they became the targets. After a while they decided to make their move. They went to their door and knocked at which time my sister opened it believing it to be another member of her party and the rest is history. The first subject indicated that they sold my sister's laptop to one of the store owners on the boardwalk. The storeowner will be back in town in May to open up his store at hich time the detective will attempt to retrieve the laptop.
Va. Beach P.D. made another arrest within two days and an arrest warrant is still outstanding for the third individual who is believed to be in Florida. Attempted murder is the most serious among the charges these individuals face.
The new detective seems to be an outstanding investigator who takes his job seriously. He has initiated contact with my sister and brother in law several times since he was assigned to the case and they finally feel that the crime is being taken seriously.
