Retired Officer Brian Beaver Receives Shadow Box From The City Of Salisbury

Last night was quite a night for the Beaver Family. Officer Brian Beaver was recognized for his 20+ years of service with the SPD in which he received a Shadow Box as well as his revolver from the Department.
Brian mentioned how humbled he was and how he looked forward to better things for Salisbury in the future. He also mentioned how he had been shot twice in the line of duty while working here in Salisbury.
I was personally happy I could make it to this particular meeting last night as Brian Beaver is simply put, one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. In fact, you'd probably never know he was a Cop if you met him on the street.
Brian also owns Harvest Irrigation, should anyone be interested in his work for your landscaping needs. Contact me and I'll forward you his information. Enjoy your retirement in good health Brian. The Citizens of Salisbury will miss your dedication.

Maybe I'm just too old school, but did Brian think the ceremony was taking place at Secrets?

A job well done.

He's retired now! He can wear whatever he wants... I am glad to see that people are focusing on the things that truly matter... Thank you Brian for truly having the heart of a servant!

Dressing appropriately for the occasion, whatever that occasion may be, has nothing to do with if you're retired or not.

Maybe Brian was showing just how much respect he doesn't have for the mayor or the chief? Hard to show respect for those that don't earn or deserve it.

Happy retirement Brian.

After years of wearing the uniform and kevlar vest etc....If it was me I'd have shown up in shorts and a T and said here I am. Eat your hearts out , I'm retired!!!!! Brian and his family are dear to my wife and I. It was good to see them get this award. I say them because of the sacrifices a whole family makes when you are in law enforcement. Knowing that when you go out to protect and to serve your community, it could be your last. And he did it without question or regret. Thanks Brian, Sue and the Kids. Enjoy the time you get together. By the way, I'm ready for more of those butt burning wings..... RP

If you know Brian, he is "appropriately" dressed. True integrity, honesty and humbleness are traits that don't need to be fancied up by suits and ties.
Some of the best dressed on the outside , stink on the inside. Whats the saying ? You can dress up a turd but it's still a turd.

I would hate to think that 20 + yrs of service to protecting his community has been diluted to what he was wearing. He is dressed in his finest where it counts, and thats his heart.

Brian is one of the best police officers I ever had the pleasure of meeting. He was polite and calm and had no ego. When an emergency happened, he always rose to the challenge and got the job done. He was very cooperative with the fire department when we worked together on scenes and we respected each others roles. He is a dedicated family man and a wonderful human being, Thank you for your many dedicated years of service. I'm proud to call you my friend.

Wow a day late and dollar short.

Maybe the Chief and the Mayor should have been a little more focused on the issues within that department. The low morale and turn over rate is amazing. Dont blame the pay. I dont see guys leaving Somerset with all of its issues. I dont see guys leaving Worcester County. So the turn over is a management issue period. Take the blame Chief and Staff, City Council you have failed your troops miserably.

To the three that have resigned this week to take new jobs God Speed. To the three suspended if you win your trial board stick it up his arse. Just remember sue the man not the city. Tort law protects the city.

I think this new mayor is in tune. I hope he is watching close as to what is transpiring in the last hours of the old guard.

B.B. have a great time in retirement. The message was loud and clear. To anyone that knows him this was a statement. Dont kiss ass now Mayor and Chief you had the oppurtunity for the last 20 plus.

Although I can not say the same for most Salisbury Police Officers, Mr Beaver is a good man.

shot twice in the line of duty gives him the right to wear what he wants and for you to pucker your ungrateful lips and kiss his khaki wearing AZZ. Thankyou for your dedication to the job my brother in blue

It has been good working with you SARG! Thanks for your help! Good luck at Fruitland PD.

We're proud to have you in Fruitland BB!

I think he should have worn his fruitland uniform to make a true statement, so the city can see the fine officers that we are losing.

Don't include Campbell and Cohen when you talk about city council failing SPD. Smith, Comegys and Shields were the three votes that have betrayed SPD officers at every opportunity. Any one of them could have voted in the affirmative and the balance of power would have shifted. What cowards.

Beav, Congats!!! and thankyou for all you have done for us and taught us over the years. I hope we can be half the cop you were. Your only flaw is the love of the Red Sox's.

May god bless you and your family.

He gets to work with that Awesome Sandy Bradley at Fruitland now. Lucky him. She's the BEST!

With all of the declared surplus' stated by Oland on Monday night I didn't hear anything about Brian's service pistol being given to him? What's up with that?

All those years of going to work everyday putting your life on the line and you get a shadow box? I bet the mayors gets more than that for 12 years of lousy service as a crappy mayor!
