Harbeson Man Charged with Possessing Child Pornography

Suspect(s): Joshua Stec, 22, of the aforementioned address

Resume: On Wednesday, March 11th, the Child Predator Task Force, DSP detectives and uniformed Troopers from Troop 4 (Georgetown), executed a search warrant at a residence along the 20000 block of Doddtown Road in Harbeson.

Detectives from the ‘Task Force’ conduct ongoing undercover investigations pertaining to the possession and distribution of child pornography over the internet. Their attention recently focused on Joshua Stec of Harbeson and investigators were able to obtain a search warrant for Mr. Stec’s home.

As a result of the search warrant, two computers as well as other digital media were seized and transported to Troop #4 for examination. During the forensic preview, over 30 images of child sexual exploitation were discovered.

Later in the day, Joshua Stec responded to Troop 4 and was subsequently arrested and charged with 29 counts of Using a Computer to Depict a Child in a Prohibited Sex Act. The subject was arraigned and ordered held on a $290,000 secured bond. He was transported to the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of bail.

I went to high school with Josh. He had a rough life...developmentally disabled, his mother was on drugs during her pregnancy with him, never had a father. I don't condone his choices, but he had a lot of the cards stacked against him.
