President 'has something to hide' about eligibility

Alan Keyes, a 2008 presidential candidate who now is a plaintiff in one of the many lawsuits seeking to verify whether Barack Obama qualifies under the U.S. Constitution's requirements to occupy the Oval Office, says the tactics adopted by lawyers for the president confirm there is an issue for the courts to investigate.

Keyes, who was the candidate of the American Independent Party, cited a recent exchange with lawyers representing Obama in which they warned they might seek monetary penalties against those raising the question of Obama's eligibility under the Constitution's requirement that the president be a "natural born" citizen.

"It confirms the common sense suspicion that he won't act forthrightly in this matter because he has something to hide," Keyes wrote on his blog after WND reported the warning about "sanctions" was raised by Obama's defense lawyers.

The onetime U.S. ambassador explained on his posting that those raising questions over Obama's elibigility – so far – have simply been ignored by courts.

"In effect, the courts are refusing the admit plaintiffs on this matter into the courtroom, thereby denying them justice," he wrote. "Madison wrote, 'Justice is the end of government. It is the end of civil society. It will be pursued either until it be obtained or until liberty be lost in the pursuit.'"

If the media had done their job, this question would not be still unanswered.

We only know exactly what Obama wants us to know about him - he was a community organizer whose main occupation has been running for office.

College records were sealed. The only background that I have seen are the unpaid parking tickets (that were paid prior to the campaign although they were twenty years past due at that point).

I think this president has plenty to hide and the investigative reporters went out of their way to make sure it stays hidden.

Sorry, but the Supreme Court already dismissed this silly lawsuit before:

It has no merit and it's baseless. Time to move on.

If you can't beat them fair and square, then run a FUD campaign. Isn't that the basic idea here??

And, and, he's hiding weapons of mass destruction under his shirt... and, and he's a communist, or a socialist (I don't know the difference)...and, and, he didn't wear a flag pin so he must be a traitor....and, and...he's the anti-Christ...and, and, oh, wait! I have to check my notes to see what else Rush told me to say today. Signed, Lad Lemming.

I guess they plan on bringing this up more than the curve in Clinton's member and a soiled dress. Shows that Keyes will keep the Republicans where they are, on the floor, for many years to come. People are really tired of this crap. Those who can't join in to help rebuild and unite this nation should just sit quietly and watch the rest of us get on with it.

If Obama was truly ineligible to be President of the United States, Hillary Clinton would have pursued that angle two years ago. If she didn't, then surely one of the Republican contenders would have. It would have been a helluva lot easier and cheaper than running against him.

Use your brains, people.

I see the liberals are so willing to sweep this very important issue under the rug which proves they don't like the Constitution I'm sure they would have done the same for Bush NOT ! What a bunch of hypocrites what else is new ?

3:18,

What is there to 'sweep under the rug'? Allow me to say this again: The Supreme Court of the United States has dismissed this lawsuit, out of hand, for having zero merit...

Now, if you want to talk about hypocrisy... where were you, and your Conservative brethren, when George Bush was suspending habeas corpus, illegally wiretapping US citizens, politicizing the Justice Department, and torturing detainees? All of these actions are unconstitutional. If you don't want to be viewed as a hypocrite, then I'm guessing that you support an investigation into these things, and you support prosecution and incarceration if any crimes were found to be committed, right?
