Pat has it right here, but the blacks are not all this way. I'm not sure what the answer is, but they do cry foul too easilly and dump their problems on others, instead of working hard for what they want, like I did most of my life.

Could not agree more. Let the "African"/Americans (99.9999% of which have never been to Africa, will never go to Africa and could not find it on the map) think back what their life would have been had their "brothers" not sold them and sent them here. Those that try have suceeded the same as other ethinic groups. Those that drop out of school, commit crimes, have a whole covey of illegitimate children and spend more time complaining about their lot in life than doing something productive, will continue their downslide in this life. Many of the "statistics" in Buchanan's letter are dubious at best. In a country where roughly 12% of the population is African American, doesn't it stand to reason that African American criminals would be more likely to commit crimes against whites? I'm not justifying crime at all, I'm just saying that the numbers here are absurd. The other thing to keep in mind is that the biggest welfare recipients in this country, by far, are corporations. Next in line with the hand outstretched, American farmers. Third in line, poor whites in Southern states. Fourth in line, African Americans in Southern states. Buchanan has some decent points, but most of this is misleading and he knows it.

But even so you have spoken the truth except telling people that it has been all the "special" treatment of this one race that has been a large part of why America is in the position it is in now. We are all Americans and no favortism should be shown for anyone. That is what the constitution says in a manner.
Perhaps those that are more ignorant could be less predjudice from here on out.
The next trouble is with our Government corruption. We have to end this or we will all be in real trouble.

The numbers you pulled (apparently to try to shore up your position) are for something else. Mothers on welfare.

Please translate those % into numbers. What you have done (misleading statistics again) is use the % of each population that is on welfare. So here's a little math lesson for you: 7% of 80% of the population is much, much more than 25% of 12%. And how are you going to define welfare? If we add in the checks that are cut each year to American farmers (the vast majority of whom are white), then the #s shift significantly. And we are talking in many cases about hundreds of thousands of dollars per farmer, not $30,000. And if we REALLY want to get serious, add in the corporate welfare to white CEOs. Suddenly, the "facts" you and Buchanan cite are not so solid, are they?

Before black Americans work on anything or anyone else,the very real issue of black on black crime should be addressed.Locally and nationally it is a serious problem and will eventually cause more loss of life than any hate group ever did.
There are more blacks on welfare by percentage wise then whites. That I understand. When blacks only make up 12% of our society of coarse there be more of the majority on welfare.
Welfare is the governments fault regardless of race. When the government makes if more profitable for a person to stay home and have kids than to work why work. When the government pays a high percentage of your rent why work. When you can get foodstamps and eat better than a working man why work. Government assistance should be available for the truly needy, but any able bodied man or woman, regardless of race, should have to work for any government assistance if that means picking up garbage on the roads.
These comments are why y'all (you all) get lectured. If you have never had the need to recieve assistance, then how do you know who recieves it? whites are definitely in line at the the wicomico social services, Wic office and every other resource available. People generally fear what they don't understand, and generally, don't understand what they fear. That's the way it is with the relationship between blacks and whites in America. White people don't understand what it means to be black in America, therefore, there is a bit of fear of blacks in America. Some blacks don't understand the prejudices of some white folk, therefore, their response is driven by what they don't know. It would appear that since we all live in the same country, it would make more sense to try to be more tolerant of each other.

Crime is crime. Who cares about the numbers. As a percentage of thier own population blacks are committing more crime than others. Whether it be crime against their own or others, they are leading the race. I don't feel sorry for any situation that any black is in, my family had to work for what we got and hard at that. Blacks seem to be handed most and only have a short walk to get it, to the mail box. White people you shouldn't feel sorry for anything, you did nothing to make thier situation the way it is.
When I grew up there was two groups of people and I will leave it at this, You were either white or a democrat, enough said.

I have a dream, that MLK's never comes true. The fact that Obama is in hasn't met MLK's dream yet either. Racism was the main reason Obama got elected, kinda goes against MLK in my opionion. Therefore as I interpret, the Dream has yet to be met! Remember people voted in volumes this time (ones that have never voted) based on one thing only, the color of a mans skin that they felt stood a chance. They never voted before because it was just going to be just "another white man". All of the above goes directly against MLK's dream doesn't it. Although MLK had good intentions, he is one of the most notorious racist ever because his intentions were really onsided.
Preaching against the white race and fanning the flames of victimization of blacks is a huge revenue producer for the Sharpton, Jesse Jacksons, Jeremiah Wrights of this countryl They don't really care about the betterment of blacks, they want to keep the anguish and accusations going to fan the flames for their own personal financial gain. It is an industry that exists primarily in black churches, one of the most racially segregated organisations in our nation. While Mr.White Man might know the supervisors aunt,they are NOT going to hire him over you.In fact,as unfair as it is,even if he has twice the related job experience that you do,you will get the job because the company is terrified of a EEOC lawsuit.Even myself,a white woman, would get preference over the white man,just because of the way things are.I have personally seen examples of this double-standard and it sucks.The best qualified person should get the job,regardless of race or sex.
Wow. Just reading the number of bigotted comments in replying to this article- proves the point- that folks do not view blacks as having or deserving equal rights. How can something so obvious be denied as the root of the problem for the denial of equal rights in this country for people of color? (blacks, hispanics, asians, middle east, etc.) I'm caucasian, but I can easily see that white America thinks they are the superior race in this country.
