Martha Euphemia Lofton married Harold Appo Haynes thus - (Euphemia Lofton Haynes)
She earned a doctorate degree in mathematics from Catholic University of America (CUA) in 1943, becoming the first black woman to receive a Ph.D. degree in mathematics.
