The Daily Times vs. Salisbury News

Did the rest of you find it interesting how the Daily Times immediately went after Jim Ireton as soon as he came out of the gate for Mayor? Here's what blows me away. They also immediately announced their support for Gary Comegys, yet they didn't even know who would be running yet and there's still a few days left to go.

That being said, again, how bias is the Daily Times and how desperate are they to get their Candidate into Office? I'll tell you how desperate. The Daily Times needs Bubba. They need the news a day in advance so they can go to press and deliver news the same day as everyone else and Comegys will let that happen. The Daily Times is also desperate for the money the City could provide for advertising.

Caldwell and Ireton are stand up men who won't play this game. As a matter of fact, my guess is they'll tell the Daily Times where they can go pound sand and if they want to be in the instant news business they'll have to get off their tails and deliver news on line in real time, just like the competition does.

In the mean time The Daily Times supports Comegys, Bankruptcy and all, for Mayor no matter who else runs. That being said, Salisbury News supports Ireton and Caldwell. They, (the Daily Times) can have that Pizza Delivery Used Car Salesman to even the playing field.

If the Mayor thought of coming out of retirement and join the race, the Daily Times can have her too because I'd LOVE to show her how badly the Citizens want to throw her and Gary out of the City and they can do so with votes. Have you cancelled your subscription to the Daily Bubba Times yet?

Hey Joe,
I think it is cool you are coming out in support of both guys. I know people think you have to support only one or the other, but I really think it is possible to support both, at least through the primary. Then pick the guy you think has made the best case. Let's all focus on the positives of both candidates, and let Comegys slpo around in the mud. Go Jim, and go Bob!

Comegys' bankruptcy does not bother me -- stuff happens. But his child support situation and the fact that he is a state bureaucrat does, as well as his lousy record on the Council.

Anybody but Bubba for mayor!
